Thinking about thus transfer it seems we've finally had that clear-out we've been speculating about for years.

Hopefully Mikel is next then

not withstanding the back-heel to Costa tonight?

honestly I still think Mikel does an important job for us in certain situations. tonight our back 4 were getting very little protection from Ramires, even though it was a crazy game I felt Mikel helped tighten up the midfield when he did come on

Don't let the other guy escape criticism. He had some dodgy moments with Ramires as well.

on the Torres business, I heard Mark Lawrenson on Football Focus this lunchtime giving it the "Chelsea destroyed Torres he was fantastic at Liverpool" story.

but if memory serves me right, Torres was in the doldrums at Liverpool for at least 6 months before he joined us - in fact coming to Chelsea was supposed to re-ignite his career.

so it wasn't Chelsea that ruined Torres, it was Liverpool, particularly as they could not manage his injury problems and rushed him back from a serious knee injury before he was fully fit. I've already said it in this thread but throughout his time with us he was injury free and expertly managed by our medical and fitness people.

Lawro is a prick, even Carragher said Torres problems started 18 months before he joined Chelsea and he should be mostly in there know as he was there.

A mate of mine claimed we ruined him and have ruined many players. Yeah cause we put them in the team and can control how they perform. Some proper dick heads I tell ya.

you're right - something tells me Diego Costa won't be cast up to us in years to come the way that Shevchenko, Crespo and Torres have been

just plucked this off a quick google search on Chelsea's striker problems.

Fernando Torres, Mateja Kezman, Adrian Mutu, Hernan Crespo and Claudio Pizarro all joined Chelsea as prolific strikers, and all left with their reputation damaged from their stay in West London.

I thought Crespo was fine with us but I've often heard the Chelsea detractors having a pop at us over his time here too

Was wondering where we are at when it comes to UCL squad registration

Are we short on home grown players?

Do we have too many foreign players providing we buy Remy (or any other ST as replacement for Torres)?

If so, will we have to sell somebody (most likely Cech as we technically have 4 GK)?

Never been too good with this area, only in Football Manager do I have any sense how this rule works

I thin you will find that:

If Remy joins and Torres leaves we are still one NHG player over for the PL.

If Remy joins and Torres leaves because Zuoma cant be put on the B list (under 21 and have been at the club 2 years) we are two NHG over for the CL

Hopefully Remy does chose us over Arsenal, he'd be first choice there so that could away his decision.

Maybe but he has got a point mate and I'm a boro lad myself and believe me I would happily call my town a sh*t hole :laugh2:

Liverpool isn't a s**thole. There are parts of it that aren't nice but you get those in every city. It's not the glamorous bright lights of New York or London or Milan but he made it sound so utterly worthless and disgusting by using that word I couldn't help but take offense.

We are 1 over, but that includes mvg and cech who are both linked with moves away.
