Poor last night unfortunately. Of course everyone's entitled to a bad game. The problem is that he doesn't seem to have a striker's instinct. He never seems to gamble. Last night, on 59 minutes, Iniesta had a shot. Torres just stood there and watched the keeper save it. A striker has to gamble in that situation, it should just happen, no need to think.

I don't expect us to keep Ba for long, but not sure we could sell or loan him yet.

I dont see the point of Loaning Ba out. There are teams out there who would love to have him in their team. If Jose thinks he is no needed at the club then he should be sold. No point at all in loaning him.

Ba has that fighting attitude we need from a striker. Not the cleanest and purest footballing talent but he can score a goal. Although he didn't score that much for us during the half season he illustrated what is the difference between a striker who wants to score and and a striker who wants to take part in the passing scene with the 3-amigos. Ba is a good player to have.

Ba didn't score that many, but there were some cracking goals. Some of them were the kind of goals that I don't think any of our other strikers would even attempt.

I think the worry is that for 2 successive years now Ba hasn't been able to maintain his form for a whole season (for whatever reason).

 

Apparently he insist on fasting for Ramadan, I read this on a BBC Article last week:

I'll openly admit I don't know when Ramadan falls in the year but maybe this could coincide with his drop in form? Or maybe I am way off. 

 

Point being, he just doesn't seem to be able to maintain his form and I was very underwhelmed with the majority of his performance for us after he signed and overall was no more of a goal threat in the league for us than Torres was.

Im pretty sure its torwards the start of the season. Usually when his best form is. You are right though, for Newcastle his form did take a dip during the second part of the season. Maybe Jose can work his magic and get him working for the full season.

According to wikipedia, this year it's between 9th of July and 7th of August. I'm not familiar with how the dates are determined, though, so I'm not sure what it means when it's mentioned that those dates are estimates.
