Well he wants to be nailed on to start so probably not a top club. I suppose he would start at Arsenal, not that we'd sell him to them. I don't think there's any way we'd sell him, especially not this late in the window.

I'd imagine Liverpool most likely if he does leave, they need a CB and Arsenal have Mertesacker, United have Smalling.

Yes he suddenly is desperate to leave because when he signed a new contract a few weeks ago he hadn't yet realised that he wasn't starting every game and had at that point forgotten that Euro2016 was coming up

Cahill needs to stick around because a) he is homegrown b)he's an excellent 3rd choice CB c)he has experience we'll need if we count on Zouma and Christensen being 2 of our CBs.

Cahill in May last year became the fastest player in Premier League history to win all five possible major club trophies.

It took him a little over three years to clinch winners' medals for the FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League, League Cup and Premier League.

So he doesn't start a couple of games, we get good results in those games, and suddenly he's leaving?  Doubt it.

 

He's also got to look at Terry and realize this is John's last year, surely.  So I doubt he'll be too quick to leave.

This is picking up traction. I highly doubt his place in the England team will change for the summer even if he continues to sit the bench. Maybe for the WC in 2018 its not looking so good but surely hes nailed on to start at the Euros.

Im speaking from the clubs point of view.

He is relatively solid, English, mature, a leader and always tries. I would try keep him as best I could.

I don't really rate cahill, but I can't see him being allowed to leave with our homegrown quota.

Being Linked with a move to Roma could see that happening tbf

The only reason we gave a new contract is to protect our asset, same as we did for Ramires, it means we can command a transfer fee if anyone comes in for him, as opposed to letting him go on a free transfer. Simples !

If the price is right it is an ideal time to sell squad or back up players.

Our remaining players should be enough to help us achieve our remaining goal. To stay clear of the drop.

GC has been named Captain of England

No selling the England captain!

Terrible for that 2nd goal, made it so easy for gomez.

He isn't a top level defender, has had some great spells for us next to jt, but he isn't even close to jt, carvalho, gallas.

Still its nice we have someone in the England team, although I wish it was Alli, kane, dier, or vardy!

Great defender for us in the past, but this last season he has been quite a shambles. Age is definitely catching up to him and I feel its good Zouma will slowly usurp him
