April 5, 201511 yr Feel like Cesc might need to push to the #10 position next season. We need a box to box ball carrier to compliment matic and cesc. Pogba is obviously the dream
April 5, 201511 yr They need to look at him closely cause he seems to run out of legs at the same time every year. Maybe its medical They probably weigh up his value to the team against his transfer value and go from there When he is on form he is a joy to watch

We would play 433. So neither would play the 10. However I think pogba is a better number 10 than fabregas.
April 5, 201511 yr his excuse last season was that all the internationals and club games accumulated and he was simply nackered + had the world cup around the corner this season it's happened again but not only does it look like he's exhausted but he has no ideas when on the ball anymore. i feel like he doesn't want the responsibility anymore. when he kicked mata out of the team he was legitimately our best player for a good 3-4 months. constantly looking for the ball, making runs off it and kept things going well. now he seems like a passenger. half the time i feel like he just wants to sit back and watch hazard dribble past players simply because it's fun to watch
April 5, 201511 yr why do you think that? Young, important to our style of play and at his very worst he's still a decent squad player. If he hasn't improved in a year or two, then I'll start to worry.

Maybe a rest during the summer will be good for him and he won't fade in the New Year. I would definitely give him another season and see how he gets on after having a rest during the summer.
April 6, 201511 yr ^ Won't happen Copa America this summer. He must be saving himself for Copa America then.

April 6, 201511 yr Raises more questions than it answers. Very frank, if surprising, assessment from Jose. Doesn't leave much room for doubt as to what Jose thinks right now of Oscar. Jose is rapidly becoming the Ruthless One. Edited April 6, 201511 yr by Socrates
April 6, 201511 yr I think he's trying to find a way to motivate Oscar. It's just not consistent with how he talks about players he's planning on selling. Definitely a calculated quote to spur Oscar on to the finishline.
April 6, 201511 yr I think Jose's comment was meant to be positive... It's sometimes so difficult to understand what he means.
April 6, 201511 yr We sacrificed so many players for him, is not fair?!!! He used to be good when we first signed him but now I don't think he is the player that once was!! I've also noticed that he gives 100% or even more when he plays for Brazil, he doesn't give that affection and desire that Eden and Willian give for chelsea, which is sad really..
April 6, 201511 yr Oscars performances have been in steady decline for some time now. I can barely recall him having a game where he was a dominant figure (ever). He has scored wonder goals on occasion and that to my mind somewhat flatters his reputation. I never bought it when Jose came out and said he was the No10 ahead of Mata because to my mind the only thing that he offered ahead of the Spaniard was the running energy rather than than the ability to unlock defences on a consistent basis. It seems now that his energy levels have slipped considerably and he is often anonymous for large parts of a game. If his stock is still high in the market I would cash him in and reinvest.

I disagree, I think hes exactly the player we bought, which is kinda the problem. I also dont agree with his effort being poor, thats one thing he always has in abundance. Same as Ramires, its just that on most days thats all we are getting.
April 6, 201511 yr Mata played in the Euros and Olympics in 2012, had about a week off--ended up having a superb season. thats because Mata is a world class number 10 and is better footballer than Oscar. I don't find Oscar that good of a footballer, he always looks so untidy when he has the ball at his feet.
April 6, 201511 yr Deco reckons Oscar is Brazil's most important player. He's said more, haven't seen the original article. Deco: The most important player for Brazil today is Oscar. But he needs to have confidence in himself because he is an extraordinary player. From Twitter. Edited April 6, 201511 yr by ashwin
April 6, 201511 yr once the weather starts warmer up (according to the papers, this week ) then we may start seeing his form return. He tends to go quiet in the cold weather, so he should, hopefully, come into form beginning this weekend

He tends to go quiet in the cold weather, so he should, hopefully, come into form beginning this weekend Once the weather warms up, once the grass is cut right, once the ball won't stop bouncing, once the opposition players stop defending, once he goes on holiday..ehh too many excuses. It's starting to sound like Torres--but I suppose Oscar is still young.
April 7, 201511 yr "Fraudscar" is something I see a lot on Twitter. He's too weak, really needs to hit the gym, I think he would suit a tinpot league like the Serie A, a league where he can run a game and develop. Oscar and £40,000,000 for Pogba would be a very tidy bit of business. Having said that, if he hits the gym a bit and works on his core strength, I don't see why he wouldn't be able to stay in the first team
April 7, 201511 yr Dunno what Deco has been smoking. More important than Neymar? haha. It does sound a little crazy but Oscar has been extremely important for Brazil over the last 2 years :) probably not as important as Neymar though. The thing is, Oscar will the never have the close control of Hazard or Willian. However, when his confidence comes back, I think he can be a prolific scorer. He gets into good positions and his vision for short layoffs is excellent. I remember this ridiculous pass he once made for De Bruyne. In any case, I will not write him off yet. With a little luck and toughening up, he can become a great player.
