April 17, 201511 yr With a title to be won Jose is hardly going to say, he's sh*t, will someone please rescue me from this waste of space...contracts mean little these days apart from protecting the investment...like we have seen with de bruyne, mata, Schurrle, Lukaku, if a high enough bid comes in, chelsea will consider it
April 18, 201511 yr He's a top performer when the weather is nice. We need to invest in indoor heating at SB.
April 18, 201511 yr How did that other fella do today? the number 10 we sold, the huge mistake because he was so much better then Oscar?? Nice man though
April 18, 201511 yr imperious today. here, there and everywhere in a good way. blocks, tackles, assist... the guy did everything
April 18, 201511 yr https://vine.co/v/ezTxYt66bmX Love that back heel, class. Must have watched it like 20 times
April 18, 201511 yr His movement before receiving the ball created that channel Hazard ran into. That's my favorite thing about Oscar, great intelligence.
April 19, 201511 yr Brilliant performance today, and not even in his preferred position. Oscar reads the game magnificently, reads the space and the movement of his teammates wonderfully, as well as putting in a great amount of legwork off the ball. What a fantastic assist too, great stuff, great player.
April 19, 201511 yr Funny how you can see things differently...I was at the game...great assist for sure, but didn't see him do much else...watching it back on sky now, I have seen him block a Rooney shot, but most of the game passed him by as in previous weeks...
April 19, 201511 yr Have to agree with the Brit , we were very exposed time after time down the right side without Willian especially first half and I'd have preferred Oscar in at number 10. It is funny how people see games, I thought Fab was poor, giving the ball away, getting caught in possession and lacking work rate whilst I read someone else made him there mom lol.

I think you saw the assist visably lift him. Everything went up after that
April 19, 201511 yr What went up exactly? If not for that assist, most people on here would be saying he was poor again for sure
April 19, 201511 yr His work rate went up, putting in challenges like he used to, covering the whole pitch, putting on a decent shift. Then in the flip side he wasn't hiding, he was trying stuff that in general is higher risk and getting on the ball.
April 19, 201511 yr I can accept he ran around a bit more, closed people down a tad, made a block on Rooney's shot, but i still worry how little he offers with our passing game, despite that assist...gives it away an awful lot and gets knocked off the ball very easily...and rarely sees out 90 mins...most subbed played in the squad this season I think

Who had the better game?
April 19, 201511 yr Lets compare him with the united number 8 who is still (rightfully so to some extent) held in hero esteam here? Who had the better game? That's one game. Mata didn't do all that much, but over his 2 years with us and his time with Man utd, he has contributed more goals and assists than Oscar, by some distance. If you want to compare them, compare them fairly not over the course of 1 game.

If you want to compare them, compare them fairly not over the course of 1 game. One of them might be about to win a league title, and regardless what people say Oscar has been a key part of that. Look at the goal yesterday. And i think the !by soome distance" is inccorect... so i would ask you Zeta to state the facts fairly. In a Chelsea shirt Mata has 18 league goals from 71 starts and 11 subs Oscar has 18 goals from 73 starts and 21 subs. I tend not to look at the sub appearnces as they can range from 5 mins at the end of a game to 45 mins but in fairness goals do come from the bench as well For united mata has 14 goals, that's over the last 15 months, not just this season Lets look at this season: Oscar in 27 league games has 7 goals and 8 assists. Mata in 28 league games has 8 goals and 4 assists So, I'm not sure where this myth that mata scores and assists more then Oscar comes from. And as we saw yesterday, when crowded out and given no space, he isn't so effective and offered no defensive cover. Yes Mata had a lot assists when he played for us and he took all the corners and yes I think he's a wanderfull player. But actually it looks like Jose might have been right..
