April 19, 201511 yr Ask Buffon. It's been nearly two years. By now I would think Buffon has forgotten who Oscar is.
April 19, 201511 yr 1 game. The assist yesterday? I think I remember him scoring a header away to Liverpool. Two against Arsenal in the 6-0 win.
April 19, 201511 yr It's been nearly two years. By now I would think Buffon has forgotten who Oscar is. "Has Oscar done anything like that agasint the big teams?." Yes. I answered the question. Now you aren't happy with the answer. I have no idea where to find a breakdown of who oscar has scored or assisted against to provide more.
April 19, 201511 yr The assist yesterday? I think I remember him scoring a header away to Liverpool. Two against Arsenal in the 6-0 win. Some good points but still not enough for nearly 3 seasons.
April 19, 201511 yr Oh man this is funny... But apart from that, what did the Romans ever do for us....
April 19, 201511 yr It's funny how one back heel can make people forget the last four months or trend of past three seasons for that matter...anyway great debate which inevitably has plenty for and against...top of the league, having a laugh!
April 19, 201511 yr No ones denying some poor form, the difference is that some of us see the quality beyond the form, some simply don't rate the kid
April 19, 201511 yr His form is incredibly frustrating and its a real problem that he drops of in the 2nd half of each season, but I think we play much better when he's on the pitch. He links fabregas to the attack really well and has a great understanding with hazard. To say he's done nothing for us is ridiculous though, he was superb the first 3 or 4 months of this season and has shown enough in the past to deserve a little more patience with him.
April 19, 201511 yr fair enough dkw, although I think your argument is one you'd use after a player's first season at a club, maybe a second...not a third though
April 19, 201511 yr No ones denying some poor form, the difference is that some of us see the quality beyond the form, some simply don't rate the kid he's obviously got some talent...you don't score the goal against Juve or that curler against QPR if you don't...just not consistent enough for me and a bit fair weather...when things get tough (whether it be the winter, the opposition, when his form dips or that of the team) he goes missing
April 19, 201511 yr fair enough dkw, although I think your argument is one you'd use after a player's first season at a club, maybe a second...not a third though Ha ha, fair point. I must just be more patient than most, I just think the fact we get such a good start from him means he's worth persevering with.
April 19, 201511 yr The most annoying things about Oscar is how little he has improved since those two beautiful goals against Juventus... I thought he was gonna be at Neymars level, it seems he lacks the ambition and cockiness that Neymar has.
April 19, 201511 yr Judging by the recent form of Neymar, Griezmann and Pogba, maybe all Oscar is missing is a stupid haircut.
April 19, 201511 yr he's obviously got some talent...you don't score the goal against Juve or that curler against QPR if you don't ive seen better goals from worse players than oscar, and i dont even rate oscar
April 19, 201511 yr He scored two screamers on his debut against one of the best keepers of the last 30 years and marked Andrea Pirlo out of the game on his debut. The talent is there and he's the same age as Francis Coquelin.
April 19, 201511 yr Some good points but still not enough for nearly 3 seasons. With role he has in the team he isn't likely to score in the "big games" everytime. With Mourinho's approach to those fixtures the attacking midfielder is often sacrificed for a more defensive player and Oscar being the central player is usually the one who drops out of the side. The number of goals he's directly contributing to is increasing. He's still only 23, a point I keep making, the same age Lampard was when he signed for Chelsea. I think there is plenty of reason to keep faith with him.
April 20, 201511 yr Happy to give Oscar one more season to prove himself. The talent is clearly there, but he needs to be more consistent and not disappear after Xmas. I'd also like to see him play a bit more aggressively in general, seems to be a bit too nice if you know what I mean?
April 20, 201511 yr I'd like someone else to come in to push him on. At least then we couldn bench him after Xmas and give us a greater chance of competing on all fronts. He's talented but 3 years of dissapearing at the same stage in a row is pretty poor.

He's talented but 3 years of dissapearing at the same stage in a row is pretty poor. It's probably Fabregas who is pushing him at the moment but his own displays in the #10 role aren't that convincing and he looks better in the deeper role where there is a distinct lack of competition. Ideally I think we need a new central midfielder in the summer to add better depth and quality, some like a Schneiderlin who would give you options on team shape. And I would like to see a left sided attacker come in to allow the option of Hazard playing in the centre and giving us cover for his injuries/suspensions.

Schneiderlin would be ideal, it would sort a few problems out for us and I doubt it would break the bank. The only trouble with that is a few other clubs could probably offer him 1st team football like Arsenal. Yeah Hazard has been lucky to not suffering any bad injuries this season but you have to think the way he is targeted by teams it's only a matter of time you would think. At lease when we had Schurrle he could fit in on the left and offer something different. I do worry about our right hand side if Cuadrado doesn’t come good, we know what we get from Willian and it’s 100% effort and hard work but lacking in end product while Cuadrado has offered very little in his few cameos. Not sure who we’d look at for the left hand side, I did see Piazon play there last season but again I have not followed his progress this season.

Well it's early days yet for old Twiglet head and it might be that once he's finished unpacking at home or whatever the reason is he seems to have forgotten how to play football he might be an option on the left that is able to cut inside. Although my preference would be to see us bring in a naturally left footed player who gives us the option of having natural width and is going to look to take players on the outside rather than cutting in. On quite a few occasions in the last couple of seasons we've been guilty of looking narrow in our play due to cutting inside so often and it's made worse with Dave being a right footed left back as well. I'm not Willian's biggest fan because for an attacking player the number of goals he scores is dismal and it adds pressure to the likes of Oscar, Hazard or even deeper midfielders to supplement our goal scoring but that said he does work hard and I can't see us changing anything about that part of the team going into next season.
April 20, 201511 yr Oh to have a Damien Duff or a Ajren Robben to play up there with Hazard. Or Zola and Hazard!
