December 12, 201510 yr Would you not need Cole and cech in that aswell Both are a level below for me. But then again Im a relatively new fan so they happen to be the best players Ive ever seen the club have.
December 12, 201510 yr Personally I think [insert contrarian opinion here] is more deservingIt simply has to be Dan petrescu.
December 12, 201510 yr Reference the brick choice, Chelsea deserve some real credit for going into that much research on a decision that a lot of people (myself included until now) would never have even considered.
December 12, 201510 yr Both is also an option. Joint statue of them and Drogba celebrating our 1st CL victory. I think many of the players who participated in the final would feel aggrieved for not being included. Separate statues of Drogba, Cech, Lampard and Terry would all be welcomed and deserved. The stadium almost feels like a hall of warriors approach. Having those individuals line each side as you walk into the arena would be great.
December 12, 201510 yr This may sound harsh, but as long as Cech is playing for Arsenal, i wouldn't want a statue of him up just yet. It wouldn't feel right. Edited December 12, 201510 yr by Scott Harris
December 12, 201510 yr I agree, not until after he retires. Thats also why Im not so sure Ash should have one or be called a 'legend'. Too many years spent at a direct rival.

December 12, 201510 yr No player currently plying his trade should have a statue. Not until 2020 should anything happen, which as a coincidence, is about the right time the stadium will open.
December 12, 201510 yr So does that mean Jimmy Greaves is not a Chelsea legend either? Im too young to have seen him, but he played for Spurs after us right? Eh, dunno

December 17, 201510 yr With Spuds given the green light to build new stadium, they must surely be in pole position to get Wembley for their games?
December 18, 201510 yr What are people thoughts on the proposed new look for Stamford bridge? Personally I'm still undecided.
January 2, 201610 yr Was told at yesterday's game that the next CPO AGM is to be held on Friday, 29 January 2016. One of the guys I go to the football with had phoned up one of the CPO Board to ask when the AGM will take place. No doubt the redevelopment of the ground will be the main topic of discussion at the AGM. ^ Had a letter today from the CPO to confirm that the AGM will take place in the Drake Suite at Stamford Bridge at 11am on Friday, 29 January. I and a few of the people I go the games with will be going along. I hope to report about what was discussed. Obviously, the redevelopment of the ground and CPO's involvement and response will be the main topics of discussion.
January 2, 201610 yr Good stuff Boyne, really appreciate the updates yourself and others are providing from attending these events.
January 4, 201610 yr Good stuff Boyne, really appreciate the updates yourself and others are providing from attending these events. Thank you, ForeverCarefree, appreciate that. I've read some of the documents which came with the letter and in the last financial year (2014-2015), CPO mad a profit, the first time in a few years. In the same F/Y, a total of 717 shares in the CPO were sold, the highest for a couple of years.
January 4, 201610 yr Boyne its a shame the meetings cant be held later in the day to give some of us CPO holders who cant get out of work early a chance to go, i'd def make the effort if i could.

Agree Carshalton Blue. It wouldn't take much for the club to open up one of the rooms for a couple of hours later in the day.Chelsea must open up rooms for all sorts of functions in the week I was at last year's AGM and it started at about 11.00am andif I remember correctly there was about 70 shareholders there. A later start would certainly get a lot more in. I'll ask the question about why the meeting isn't later.

That'd be good mate i could prob get there for 3/3.30 at a push any earlier ive got no chance. As it stands i can only do a postal vote when in fact i might want to ask a few questions on the day.
January 5, 201610 yr That'd be good mate i could prob get there for 3/3.30 at a push any earlier ive got no chance. As it stands i can only do a postal vote when in fact i might want to ask a few questions on the day. I found some notes that I made at last year's AGM and the CPO was not charged for hiring a room during the day so I imagine that there wouldn't be a charge for renting in the late afternoon or evening. As you say, it's an opportunity to ask questions and hear the views of the CPO board and share-holders. At last year's AGM there were questions and discussions (sometimes heated) about who owns shares and how and if they can be transferred from one person to another and what would happen if Chelsea decided to call in the loan made to the CPO. Would it go to Court? The board didn't think that would happen. One of the reasons for discussions about the ownership was that at a CPO meeting 2 or 3 years ago (I didn't go but friends of mine did) that there were questions about the number of shares which appeared to have been sold to people and addresses which didn't exist.
January 5, 201610 yr Before the club start building will the CPO have to be bought out by Roman?? Two to three years' ago the club looked at buying back shares from CPO and at face value i.e. £100 a share. At the time, the club was looking at moving away from Bridge e.g to Earls Court. Some shares including mine were purchased in the nineties so a £100 then is not the same as a £100 now. The request from the club was turned down by shareholders. Shareholders weren't interested in receiving money but wanted to retain a stake in the ground even if the club moved elsewhere. The share would be transferred from one stadium to another. It was alleged at the time that extra shares appeared and were purchased by people who didn't appear to exist so that a vote would be carried which would allow for shares to be bought back. That didn't happen. It will be interesting to see if the club and/or Roman forces through a purchase. It could be messy if it went to court. it must be something that the CPO board must have discussed among themselves and with the club. Will be interesting to hear what is said at the AGM.
