Fabregas can be the goalscoring midfielder that Frank was a few years ago for the next 4 years before becoming the playmaker that Pirlo is today for another 3 or 4 years.

Thats the right attitude, take all rumours with a massive pinch of salt until the club comment on it as most are uttee bollocks. Its always amusing seeing people lose their sh*t over some rumour in a newspaper.

Why would Mourinho publicly admit that he is interested in Fabregas then? I think it went a little too far to just be a nothing rumour, there is significant interest from our side and Barca are more than willing to sell him.

Regardless of whether we buy him or not I do find it funny how Barcelona pursued him season after season until they eventually signed only to want to get rid not that long afterwards.

It's effectively saying Barca paid £36m for half of Fabregas, ridiculous.

 

Would bet it's some halfwit getting confused with the rumoured fact that about half of the transfer fee is still outstanding as it was to be paid in installments.

I'd say most definitely it is

I've heard that Arsenal are entitled to a 50% payment to any accepted bid in excess of £30m...ie if Barca accept a bid of £35m, Arsenal will get £2.5m...plus they are still waiting for the final £17m payment from Barca so they will want their money more than the player... It is Arsenal after all...
