Not happening. 50m plus Malcom who was signed for 38m is an 88m deal for Willian who is 30.

It would be the biggest steal this club has made since convincing PSG to part with a world record defensive fee for David Luiz. Barca aren't that stupid.

I'd have given Willian away on a free in the summer if it meant clearing a spot for and keeping Hudson-Odoi. 

Malcom was 38M last summer. He's 21 years old. A decent loan spell and you're still talking about a 38M player. 

Chelsea should consider it as a straight swap. If there's cash involved, like that's been rumored for 6 months, we'd have to be thick to turn it down while we're bringing in Pulisic and trying to hold on to CHO.

Fair point.  They would at least look to recoup their cost on Malcom, which was reported at 38m.  If they value Willian at the rumored 50m, then that only leaves 12m or less for them to offer.  Who knows, maybe they'll overpay.

Maybe if it was Messi it might be worth considering......oh but wait he's over 30, so he'd only get a one year contract according to our lot so it wouldn't be worth it, so I guess Malcom it is then..

He seems a Sarri favorite so unless Willian goes on strike I dont see this happening.

yeah doesn't seem right on many angles, unless Courtinho & Messi want Willian to play with them

 

After typing this post, I see that Barca are losing to Levante - ok it's only in the 1st half of their match but Levante?

Sky were reporting we were about to sign crouch/carroll/the guy who host pointless this time last year, so I am not holding my breath. 

That said Malcom plus anything over £20m would be a steal. It would be nice to a have a left footed attacker. 

Not sure sarri would be happy if Willian went though.

Well they wanted him last summer but we declined.....it wont shock me if this is true, coming in with a better offer. Malcom is a bonus, the Cash itself should rap the deal.

This whole Malcolm and cash for Willian is crazy. If that is even remotely true, Chelsea are completely stupid not to take the deal and run. As much as I would love for it to be true, excuse me if I'm slightly skeptical.

Especially since Barca has Dembélé - not sure why this rumor has legs but I am hearing Valverde is not welcomed any longer at Barca. Why I don't know. Also Dembélé might not have a good standing with his actions late last fall.

To be honest it makes a lot of sense now.  Willian works his tail off, and Barca could use him as a sub when they have a lead, they have other guys to score.  Their long term goal is Neymar anyway.

For the blues, it may be a move to push CHO up in the pecking order.  If Sarri told the board he now rates CHO ahead of Willian, I could see this move making a ton of sense.  Even for Malcom +12 mil.

A left footed forward, who I think could fill in as a false 9 as well.

Nooo it isn't a rumour, at least not yet anyway.

It would make sense though... Barca have a history of playing 4-3-3, Liverpool play 4-3-3. Klopp has also been at Liverpool for a few years now, he may want a new challenge?

I don't see what the problem is with one year deals for players plus 30, it's common sense to protect ourselves from having a squad full of ageing declining players on big and longish contracts like what happened at the start of this decade.
