60M was simply too good an offer to let go.

Too good an offer To be true

I'm still skeptical about the numbers. Call it denial, but anyone offering or turning down 60M for Willian should be out of a job. 30M should have gotten it done.

As I type this, Tammy knocks in another for Villa

Barca wanted him bad......we didnt sell and they went and bought someone else for 45M, cant remember his name. But both barca and Willy confirmed it.

Malcolm. He’s battled injuries this year and only made 5 La Liga appearances.

He’ll be 22 in February.

Thought he looked better today, just needs to develop an end product.

Willian has always been good picking the ball up and running from deep, it's the one part of his game that I actually think he is consistently good at.....it's when he approaches the attacking areas where it all falls apart. He had multiple chances to take his man on today, but he just stopped and played it backwards. His corners were terrible, and I thought he should have scored when he was put through one v one.

The only reason Willian is playing at the moment is because Hazard is false 9, otherwise it would be Pedro and Hazard on LW/RW. I'm wondering whether we bring in Mertens in Jan.

The ship has sailed on this considering how late he is in his career, but would be interesting to see him at left mid in a Sarri system.

You realise Willian has been involved in every game in all competitions this season except for Fulham at home? He played more than any other player in the squad, I think Sarri might rate him somehow.

No pleasing some people. Look at the data day on the official site and you get a real picture of his overall contribution in yesterday's match.

Not true, I would be pleased if he converted his chances and gave us a chance to score from corners and free kicks. We need goals, and seeing as Willian is one of the most attacking players in the team, they need to come from him now and again.

What the club actually thought about Willian.

"Willian recorded a game-high three key passes, with Eden Hazard and Mateo Kovacic each making two.

Hazard was successful with five dribbles, two more than the next player who was Willian.

We had 10 attempts of which four were on target. Hazard and Willian had three each

Willian impressed not just offensively but also when the team needed him to defend, and his four successful tackles was the most of any Chelsea player. N’Golo Kante won three."

But that doesn't match some people's agendas, or they think they know more than the professionals running the club, or they don't like his hair, or something.

Still, we can keep  on about "end-product" and "doesn't score enough" as justifications for having a moan, can't we, even though Willian's main role in the team is not goal-scorer, and never has been.

Seems none of our managers agree with you, though.

They do see that Willian is poor but because of the lack of trust for Morata/Giroud and Hudson-Odoi, Willian is still getting decent minutes, also while he is missing a clear cut chance almost every game the fact that he is getting into chances alone does help his case.

Crazy how Willian has had problems, playing at the World Cup and while he looks dangerous nothing happens and then Costa comes in and the whole attack lights up for Brazil.

Willian for me has always had the world class quality because of his speed and technique but ever since he acted badly towards Conte I changed my opinion of him.
