It is quite clear he does not care to stay here. 2 year deal is more than fair. If he wanted to be here he would take that deal. We dont need players who put their ego before the club.

Yes it is interesting how he wants a three year contract and will probably ensure he does leave. I do think his ego is a problem yet also think with two young girls he is trying to ensure he earns as much as he can before he is forced to retire or step down a level.

Let Spurs have him, we can then keep with our recent policy (Hazard apart) of only letting players go when they have past their prime, and for me Willian has reached that time.

Don't' see him going there perhaps West Ham if they stay up.

If after the number of years here, and owning half a restuarant, he has serious concerns about his daughters financial futures then he must be terrible at saving money.

Or his wife is good at spending it. 😉

He probably has another good year or 18 months within him, but the last 6-9 months will be a write off. I don't know exactly how much money was offered, but 2 years was more than fair, after all this is not the Serie A where you have to be 35 to play. I don't think Spurs will offer him 3 years either, especially if Jose is going to get off their bus after about 12 months or shorter. If he wants to leave, so be it, I'd use some of that money to keep Giroud for another year.

Restaurants often go under and they have already had some bad press, IMO.

Let him go to Arsenal - that normally works out with hilarious consequences for us! Agent Luiz generally being sh*te, Billy Gallas crying in the centre circles. Good times. The only one I felt bad for was Cech!

Cech shocked me, before we got rid of him, he was playing really well when fighting for his place with Courtois, I really thought we made one of our most stupid moves in our clubs transfer history by letting him go there. We gave Arsenal a top keeper, something they lacked for about 15 years prior and held them back significantly. Luckily for us he was woeful at Arsenal, I never expected it.

It was disappointing seeing him going to Arsenal, however we were looking at the future and granted Cech his wish to stay in London. We're a good club to play for if you've served us well.

I know, but at the time I thought we gave Arsenal the final piece of the puzzle, they were a decent team when we handed him over. I think we should've been brutal and refused to sell him to a rival. But that's just me, it turns out it worked in our favour, Cech probably wouldn't have came back if we didn't let him stay in London and tried to move him abroad.

Top man. It seems to indicate he expects to leave though, which is a shame.

He might have made a few "high profile" errors, but he was a long way off being woeful at Arsenal ... rating #1 in the PL on shots saved percentage in both 2015/16 and 2016/17. I'm presuming that this metric is OK to use, as it is the same one that half the world has been using to bash Kepa with this season ... 🙂

Stats can be misleading, they were trying to replace Cech for years and he became 2nd choice keeper. Maybe not woeful, but by expectation I would definitely say so, Cech was brilliant here, even before we sold him, watching him at Arsenal it was like he was a completely different player.

Cech here had a world class defence in front of him, Arsenal have always been dog sh*t a defending. Very similar reason to why Kepa has looked poor this year.

True, but I remember even during the 2011-13 period when we were pretty shaky at the back, I mean probably still better than Arsenals defence have ever been, but Cech was still brilliant, especially in 2011 he was our player of the season I believe.

Assuming this is true, must be a good thing though could mean its the last time we see him in a Chelsea shirt

It does sound like most players will have a case to say “my contract is up June 30 or July 1” and sign elsewhere, if not ahead of time. For deals like Ziyech, it sounds like if he wants, he’ll have a strong case to be a Chelsea player July 1 no matter what.

What’s going on with Willian? Reports coming out saying he doesn’t want to play for us anymore. Probably lazy journalism.

This was the quote this week. Can't tell by the quote of Willian overplayed his hand and the club told him to pound sand, or if he was really only ever going to accept 3 years, in which case, the club should tell him to pound sand.

I don't think Willian is saying anything disrespectful or is he showing "his character." He wants a 3 year deal and feels he is worth that, while the club disagree and think 2 years is more than enough. (He is over 30 btw and technically the club are breaking their own over-30 rule). I just think both the club and player realize that neither on going to budge on this front and they might as well part ways.

The sad thing is how this season may end; without Willian being able to be sent off for his years of service to the club and the supporters not being able to show their appreciation to him. Think he deserves that in the very least.

Willian is a player who, when he wants to be, a real asset. Quality free kicks, great engine and work ethic. Good link up and a good strike plus a willingness to sacrifice himself for the team.

Unfortunately,  imo, he will be remembered as a player who rarely wanted to be THAT player.
