February 21, 20206 yr For me, whatever happens, we should let Willian go. Mount can replace him as the industrious winger if it needs to happen.I am not a fan of Mount on the wing. I prefer him in a central position.

I think he’s better as a left forward (not a traditional winger) as he tends to drift in to that space when playing centrally (although a bit like Kante he also seems to be everywhere!) and get in the way of the winger & full back. He started the season in that position and that’s when his best form was too.

Anything but another season of frustration and mediocrity of Pedro and Willian. BOTH need to be moved on - no ifs or buts. No other possibilities excite me like Sancho. We are clamoring for a world class talent like him, and I feel Boga is good but nowhere near that level.

February 21, 20206 yr He's now a British citizen. I don't think we will get rid of him haha. I mean, the guy does love the club so that's a positive I guess.

There you go, fixed it for ya Is it a bit like the rumours that Frank and JT tried to get AVB sacked, or that @coco once bought a round?

I have no problems keeping him for the odd run out against league 1 and 2 sides in the cups but I doubt he would be happy with that.

But that's what I said anyway, just because we don't know what goes on behind the scenes doesn't mean we can't speculate and have a safe guess. What Willian did on the snapchat image was strange behaviour, and to me it looked like he fallen out with Conte, put two and two together.

If not, move on. I think Pedro has traits that are more easily replaceable. The thing that means Willian plays more often than not is his ability to deep receive the ball under pressure and turn or win a foul. It's a huge out when we are under pressure and struggling to play out. It's even more important now that Hazard has left. None of the current wingers have that (though CHO has started trying it this season). If we can't find a player like that I could see us keeping him.

He's gotten everything he's wanted for Willian at Chelsea. And what does he have to lose by asking for 3 years now?

February 24, 20206 yr If he takes a one year extension, then why not. He's 31 so by no means past it and can still help our young side develop. Who knows whether he'll be happy doing that though. What I don't want is him to leave on a free then sign for Arsenal or Spurs. He would only strengthen their teams, and he clearly wants to stay in London.
February 24, 20206 yr I'm all for keeping him here, but giving him more than one year is a big mistake imo

Doubling down on Willian turning down a 2-year extension from Chelsea.
February 26, 20206 yr Think it would be best to part ways. He isn't getting better plus gives space for new blood.
February 26, 20206 yr Not sure why we are breaking our 1 year rule for over 30 players for Willian. He's lucky he's even being offered 2 years!
February 26, 20206 yr I was for keeping Willian, changing my mind now and think we need another front man and time to say farewell to Willian Borges. I had hoped following Hazard's departure he would step out of Hazards shadow and surprise us with his quality. It has been too few and too far between.

We didn't even break our 1 year extension for over 30's policy for club legends like Terry, but we are happy to do it for Willian? I don't know what Willian has done to be thought of so highly by the club. Personally, I think Willian knows he would never get a 3 year extension with us, he just doesn't want to come out and say he wants to leave. He wants out, and he's going to use the excuse that it was because the club couldn't agree with his contract demands. Even if he was offered a 3 year extension, I expect his demands would have changed to 4 years.
