Kerry Dixon, was before my time but I’ve heard so much praise for him. He was a lot of people’s favourite player from the old days.

I remember Oxford away in the second division packed crowd and CFC everywhere and a terrific atmosphere we get a corner and the Oxford fans perk up with Kerry Dixon is a Wxxker. Croner taken and Dixon jumps up and scores at the near corner.

He never let the crowd phase him, unfortunately I first saw him just past his peak yet he was definitely a decent and popular striker.

You can't judge players by by goals when they are not strikers..........................................

Isn't that EXACTLY how some people in here judge Willian, @Nibs?

I don’t see the point of this whole ‘one year or f**k off’ thing we do for over 30s. If they’re not needed/don’t want to be here a year later just let them go for free.

I'd give him the two year contract, he seems to be playing well for Frank, imagine if he went to Spurs on a free at the end of the season..............

God No! Wouldn’t give him a 2yr contract. Still think fans views have been skewed by a combination of factors this season; he is playing for a new contract, his competition are a new player in his 1st season in the PL & a youth player in his 1st full season, he is a guaranteed starter and we are getting our attacking players in more advanced positions on the pitch.

He will be 32 at the start of next season, if we ever intend to close the gap on City & Liverpool for me he wouldn’t be starting. We all know how he reacts when he isn’t playing regularly. For what it’s worth he is joint 40th for goals scored and joint 16th for assists.

I agree with @ducavis, the summer is a perfect time for both parties to go their separate ways.

Willian is 32 which is very old for a winger (think there's only about four PL wingers over 27), there's every chance he's basically doing what Pedro did last season and is having one last horrah before falling off a cliff.

Think that is best for all parties to be honest.

He has done very well this season. Pedro did last season and he is sh*t this season.

Again I repeat, if he is so good why has a foreign club not agreed a pre contract with him already?

I think he has another season at top level and if he does not stay with us is likely to end up at Spurs, Arsenal or West Ham as with young kids he likes living in London.

I think arguably to date he has been our player of the season.

He probably just wants to keep his options at the ready. After his goal against Spuds I'm happy that he didn't leave to Barcelona, maybe after the season is over he goes back to Brazil because he said that he would like to play for his favorite club from there but a player like him could get into a decent new club in Spain,Italy or MLS without any problems.

I would be happy for the club to keep Willian for an extra year but two years is too long in my opinion.

If Willian leaves, it will make the path of replacing him with Sancho far easier.

The spuds would come up with a song no doubt, no thanks.

Giving him two years would not incentivise him to improve.

The bloke's 53 years old.  He's not going to  improve.

I don't see Willian's age being as much of a problem as it is for many other wingers. He may lose a bit of pace but he has much more to his game than that.

The problem is if we decide we no longer need the player but the player disagrees, and then spends the next few years hanging around collecting fat pay cheques.

Think we will miss him more than we think, the status don't show those defensive work he did, and somebody has to step and do it if he's gone. Pedro was pretty much "dead" as player once he lost his speed, he's never had great touch or technical abilities, he's a good finisher and runs smart channels. Technically, Willian is better, so I don't think he will suffer that much once he loses his pace.

He will lose his ability to balance attack and defense the way he's doing it now and will have to prioritize one or the other.

Get a winger in who scores 15/20 and assists 10/15 and you’ll all quickly forget about him.

Well we have two others, CHO and Pulisic who may or may not get to that standard.

If they don't and we let him go we may come to regret it.

I like also that he is experienced and think you need some experience alongside youth and with Pedro almost certainly going this season that does not leave many others.

On his day, king Kerry was the canine's appendages. I was at the semi in 94 against Luton. We were class to Kerry and he was back to us.
