Dave for me, was solid.

The teamwork Dave and Willian have looks pretty promising, would probably be better if Dave could get forward and make things happen.

Having seen the full game I actually feel I can offer an opinion in one of these MOTM threads for a change lol.

Voted for Eto'o. He was full of running all game, took advantage of Ridgewell sleeping to put us in front and, as was pointed out in the match day thread, was one of the two guys chasing back to help Mikel and help prevent West Brom making it 1-3.

Willan's work ethic was also very impressive and think, after he is given time to adapt to our league more, he will be a solid player in the side.

Much as Hazard did well nearly scoring himself before Eto'o's goal and was so cool on the pen he was otherwise poor imo.

Azpi was the best of our defenders, which is not saying much as JT and Cahill got bested by Long and were both hopeless on the 1st goal, though Brana managed to be worse than them both and also broke down so much of our attacking play. Why is he our out ball when every cross he made went to a WBA player?

Lampard was a passenger that made a few misplaced passes. Ramires was poor but at least had energy to the last. Oscar also got it wrong time and again when pushing on.

On the positive front through I was very happy to see Eto'o still clearly has the desire to be a top player, and believe Jose can get the best out of him. He may not be the player he once was, but he can still offer us a lot. Willan I believe will prove to be an inspired signing.

This is my 4th visit to this thread and I've yet to vote. Just can't single one player out. I've narrowed it down to Hazard, Eto'o, Willian and Dave.

Difficult game to pick a man of the match but I almost want to vote for Oscar just to highlight that not everybody thinks he had a bad game.

I won't go that far and because he never put a foot wrong, didn't lose the ball or missplace a pass and is improving, sharper and hungry I'll give it to Eto'o.

Azpi was our brightest defender, Hazard was ok and calm for the penalty, Ramires looked better once Mikel came on and Willian is getting around and working hard every time he gets a chance.

The rest had a few problems including the keeper but we got a point and games like this would have meant no points without the man who made the right changes and kept the boys believing.

Got to be Willian, always looking for the ball, the boy was everywhere, in fact me and my son were debating what his position was!

I went for Eto'o. I remember him being written off as a washed-up mercenary before he had even played a game for us but his attitude has been fantastic. Hardworking and always alert, it's good to have real bite up front again. It was just a shame that we struggled to convert so much of our possession into goalscoring opportunities yesterday.
