I am so very excited about this signing. Everything I have heard and read leads me to believe we just brought back a hell of a player. Honestly a month ago I thought he was out of reach (too expensive) and would have been happy with Guarin but this is really just awesome!

What I like about this, apart from it being a player for a position we badly need strengthening is it shows(for me) Jose has the owners ear when it comes to signings, I get the impression Jose has had him on his radar for quite a while.

I have a feeling he is the player that'll surprise a lot of people. Those, who watched him regularly for Benfica, think very highly of Matic.

oscar in a midfield 3 and oscar as a nr 10 are basically the same thing

Great signing, the type of player we have needed for a while, definitely a JM type signing. Full marks to the club for backing the manager early in the transfer window giving him more time to assimilate into the group than had we waited to the latter part of the window.

Essien, Mikel, De Bruyne, Marin, Moses sales should recoup around £30m for FFP plus around 250k in wages.

 

Should all be sold in the summer imo

When you consider that United paid 27.5mil for Fellaini (LOL - bullet officially dodged btw), this is an absolute bargain. VERY highly rated in Portugal. Kezman said he is 'one of the best in the world' in his position. 

Realistically who else in the same position that was available could we have signed instead? I think the only other was Khedira and his season ending injury put an end to that. Mayber Bender but I think Matic is equally as good if not better. Great signing for the position
