Well that is might impressive!

Great replacement for the outgoing Cahill and ageing Luiz. With quality pass stats like that it looks as if he can maybe even usurp Luiz this season!

I’ve got a feeling Rudi and Zouma could make a top partnership, people forget how good zouma was, it’s such a shame he got injured, I’d like to see him get another run with us.

I never personally saw it myself, yes his last ditch tackles and recoveries were great but he was putting out fires he started by very poor positioning in the first place. 

I think a £40m deal to Everton will be perfect for all parties.

Think we will need him, no GC, Rudi recovering, we are thin in CB position 

Christensen and Rudiger are definitely are starting 2 centre backs, with Zouma excellent cover. Hes now starting for the best national team in the world, exciting times.

I watched Everton a bit and he seems to have improved his passing but I'm looking forward to seeing how Silva has grown his game more generally. I do worry that he isn't an organiser and is perhaps a bit less developed positionally because he is big enough and quick enough to get out of trouble. 

With Rudiger injured and Luiz getting on we will need him. Hopefully he gets a shot.

It was against Andorra mate, he's not a starter. 

I don't think we have a choice but to keep Zouma with the incoming ban so I suppose there's no harm in giving him a go but I don't think he's good enough to play at a top team. A team like Everton is good for him.

Problem is if we are being offered £40m as is being rumoured, the only way it makes financial sense to turn it down is if Lampard plans to make him a starter or at the very least a tactical sub. Having £40m worth of a player sitting as 4th choice makes no economical sense.

Couldn't agree more!  Good enough for a good mid table team, but not top four. However, i'm really pleased he's made a full recovery from his serious injury and is doing well at Everton.

If £40 million is on the table, then I'd take it. We only have to replace Cahill at centre-back, and he hardly played, so Tomori or Clarke-Salter could probably step up and do that ... or maybe even Guehi ...

Why are people so desperate for us to sell our players while we are likely to get a 2 window ban, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. 

Zouma is definitely an upgrade on Cahill, so at least there's that! 

Rudi, Christensen, Zouma and Luiz is not a bad 4 CB's to have in all honesty. Can definitely do a lot worse.

Is he that much of an upgrade on Ampadu though?

I'd rather see Rudi, Christensen, Luiz and Ampadu + £40m ready for next summers rebuild.

It doesn’t but it soon does if we are in a critical part of the season and lose 2 cb’s remember the days when big clubs all had 4 good strikers. 

City subsitutues could make top 4, you have to have quality on the bench at this level

Agreed. Plus all the extra tough games we have this season, we could easily use Zouma for the majority duration of the carabao and FA cup, and thats still quite a bit of game time.

Right now he is for sure an upgrade on Ampadu.  In 3 years?  Maybe, maybe not.  Zouma is a fully capable, PL starting caliber CB and should be for the next 3-4 seasons.  I'd rather keep him, but wouldn't be upset if we go 40m or more for him either.

Dont understand the urge to sell  any players when there's a transfer ban, this boy is Prem league ready so really needs to stay for the season. This time next year when the embargo is lifted is the time to sell and buy and spend the Eden cash.

Ampadu has a lot of potential but right now how can you even compare Zouma and Ampadu? Zouma has had what, 2-3 full seasons in the PL playing at CB and done well. Ampadu has barely played in the league, for us to think right now he can come in and do a very good job. Future yes, but next season is an unknown quantity. Of course right now he is an upgrade on Ampadu. Do I see Ampadu going on loan to Everton right now and getting in their team at CB? I don't.

I'm happy to sell edge players because it makes places for our best youngsters. Zappacosta making space for Reece James for example. Given we don't really have a young CB who is first team ready, I'd prefer to keep Zouma. Particularly if we go back to prefer proper defenders over those who are good on the ball.

Ampadu is not physically big enough yet to be playing in a central two. I think his future is in defensive midfield.

Yes.

Ampadu did play for us in a few games last season and he did well. I am amazed that most were asking to play CHO over William/Pedro but are now reluctant to play Ampadu over Zouma.
