*Schurrle has scored more away goals from his few appearances than all of our strikers combined.

Awkward one this for Jose. Its pretty evident some of our players are desperate for a break but resting too many could see us get battered which could lower morale etc. Be interesting to see the team he picks. Fully expect to see Salah start along with Lampard and possibly Torres.

I do believe there is a spelling mistake in the title of this thread. It should read Manchester CITY v Chelsea :/

Tonights game v Sunderland will tell us much about how this one will pan out. You guys were below your best against WBA last night, but we have been poor against both yourselves and Norwich now and we need to give Sunderland a bit of a slapping to regain the confidence we appear to be losing. I don't expect that to be the case however. I expect a really tough game against Poyets side (our bogey team), but a win puts us above you in the league and will give us a bit of beliefe.

There will no doubt be a bit of revenge on our players minds come Saturday, The Etihad crowd will also be bang up for it too. It should be a good game, and with it being a knock out competition with no points on the line (the league is by far the most important to us) i expect it to be a open game too. As i say, i'll know more after tonights game. But i'll have to go with a City win no matter what of course... 2-1.... And how amusing it will be if Yaya scores the winner. If only to hear old Maureens post match squirm fest

looking forward to the trip up there - will be diff from the league game . Gotta just play our way and not be dictated to  and snub out Silva & Toure again . same team as before with possibly Torres instead of Eto - hope Cahill is ok for it though

Will toure actually play though?

In fact what sort of team do you think Pellegrini will put out? Tough to call our team I think, not sure which way Jose is going to go to be honest. There is merit in suggesting playing our strongest and merit in resting a fair few.

Don't think anyone can predict how this is going to go until we see the team sheets. One things for sure, we could both do without a replay.

Also it'd be nice if your mob made some sort of atmosphere this time!!!

Think Eto'o might need a bit of a rest after playing so many games recently. Would like to see Schurrle lead the line, Torres looked as hopeless as ever when he came on last night. Think he hit the ground more times than he touched the ball.

The bookies seem to have changed their tune after winning there last week. Would be surprised if we can go there twice and pick up two results but I'm hopeful.

City have Barca in midweek while we get the week off so there's that.  We'll need Hazard but I'd start Salah on the other wing.  Players should be up for it since it's Man City, if we knock them out we'll be favourites for the cup.

It's a hard one to call team selection wise, I love the FA Cup and would dearly like to be looking for us in the next draw but as close as the top of the league is, it won't be great viewing when the line up comes out if we start with five or six players who although good enough to "serve it" (borrowing some of MSBs terminology) to City have not had much game time as a unit.

I fancy putting out a side with pace on the wings and would at huge risk rest Hazard and Oscar, going with Salah Willian and Shurrle behind whichever striker plays. I would try to keep the midfield solid with Matic and Luiz in there but it feels a huge risk leaving Ramires, Oscar and Hazard out.

I would start Ash and Azpi as wingbacks and Terry/Cahill or Terry/Ivan as CBs.

There is a big shout for playing the usual suspects though as an FA Cup would be brilliant along with a top three finish.

Does it really bother City fans when we or other fans refer to Man City as 'Citeh'?

I remember getting a lot of Chelski thrown at me when Roman took over and it didn't bother me one bit. Just curious.

I fancy us to win this, though it wouldn't surprise me if City do.

Sounds like Cahill will be missing for the game.

Do not expect to see Jose come at this one in any other way than he did the league game, given we have no mid week match.

You know thinking more about it, I would not be surprised if, privately, Jose would not be too disappointed if we went out on Saturday. Less games for the players, more rest time and prep time for the League and CL. He may well play a rotated side.

Not what I want us to do, I do love the FA cup and have enjoyed seeing our many wins in it in recent years. But if Jose believes half of what he is telling the press, then he does not believe our squad has the ability to conquer on all fronts. His priority is likely the league.

Of course we would all like to win every game but that isn't possible so given how close the title race is, like many others, I would not be too concerned if we lose this game.  I think it was evident against WBA that several of our key players need a rest and we haven't yet built up the stamina and determination to fight on all fronts this season.  Jose and Roman etc will clearly have to decide what our best chances are of a trophy (despite saying that top 4 is the target) and I would bet they would rather take the league title over the other two cup competitions right now.  Depends how City view the importance of this game over the CL game against Barca in terms of team selection.  I think both will field different players than a couple of weeks ago, City just might edge it but I won't be crying over it…there are better things yet to come.

Its going to be a really tough game. City will be out for revenge and very much up for it. Sad to say that I can see us losing this one.

If City do knock us out, I would back them to do the treble. They're not going too be far off. If we're not in the cup, then they should win it. Should also win the league cup snd and the league given their squad. I think its down to Pellegreni to get them through. Lets see what he's made of and if he can do it in the big games.

We might also be struggling but defensively but I think JT will be back. It will be Luiz and JT at the back.

Regarding Luiz, I am always confident with him in the games. He always plays his best games in the big games - hes a big time player. Its the smaller games that Luiz has a problem with, he switches off and takes too many risks against smaller clubs. Big clubs he is fine.

Geezer.

if Cahill is out i'd rather see JT and Brana in the centre of the defence with Dave at right back and Ashley back in at left back.  I'd play Luiz and Matic in front of them like last time and then go with Willian, Oscar and Hazard with Etoo up front.

Luiz seems to play better in CB with JT. Its as though JT is in his ear the whole match telling him to stay alert and do nothing rash. Hopefully Eden feels well rested. Im hoping for a win - if we win we have a very, very good chance of winning the FA cup again but I can help but feel Pellegrini is due a result against Mourinho
