Most hated ex-player and why?

Featured Replies

I know this thread may have popped up before but it's been a while and things could have changed. Anyway, who would you say? Personally, I don't have one but it's always interesting to find out from others. I have a hunch who may feature heavily...

I dont know really. I dont really hate any of our ex players. Wayne Bridge and his crying of JT shagging is ex misses got on my nerves.

Well...wasn't expecting Bridge, Uno. You never cease to surprise me. Always good to read your views :)

Although I never saw them play Andy Townsend and Craig Burley get on my tits because of the rubbish they come out with when commenting our games.

There's something about Scott Parker I don't like, he seems to revel in it a bit much when he's scored against us in the past and I'm not sure us fans deserve it.

Poyet tops my list, totally because of one unforgivable, absurd action on one very bad night at a very horrendous match i was at. Then you've got Townsend, Durie, perhaps Gallas. Bridge never bothered me, i think he just got swept up in the media maelstrom, incomparable to, say, kissing the Spurs badge and punching the air.

Yep, can't stand that horrible bar steward Poyet. We'd brought him in from Zaragoza, given him the best nights of his career and he went to our direct rivals and kissed the badge after he'd been there ten f**king minutes. He's subsequently tried to crawl up to us again, but the damage has been done.

Personally think anyone who booed Bridge over the Terry thing was a moron. The bloke was responsible for one of the greatest Chelsea moments going at Highbury - how would you feel if roles were reversed? Not over the moon, probably.

Andy Townsend for the drivel he comes out with when commentating. I seem to recall that he said that he left the club because he wanted to win things. Why he is still employed by ITV is beyond me.

Townsend for me.  Utter scum.

As for Poyet, I was also there that night but I've since moved on and accepted his numerous apologies.  It took me ages to understand how he could have gone there in the first place - but fair play he wanted to stay in London where his family had set up home and that was the offer he had that allowed him to do it.  Hell even I'd play for them if they offered me a decent wage and a chance to stay near London and play football (I would be violently sick just at the thought of putting the kit on though, and if one of their fans chanted my name or cheered me, I'd go mental).  But I do understand.  Kissing the cock was very very bad, but how many times can he apologies and declare that Chelsea is his team, he doesn't make any effort to keep in the tottingham fans good books.

Yeah Poyet has since apologised. He didn't want to leave and Ranieri drove him out. He was trying to attack Claudio and not us and has since apologised and realised the way in which he did it was wrong. I like him as a manager as well, a good balance between passion and nouse.

Now for my least favourite EX...

Probably Mutu. What a waste of talent.Gallas hurt as he was my favourite player but at least he sabotaged the gooners

I think part of the reason I struggle to forgive him was because of how much I loved him when he played for us. It was like seeing your ex girlfriend kiss the bloke who you used to detest because he smelt and picked his nose.

Of all the ex-Chelsea players in the media, Burley is in a league of his own for pissing me off. I quite liked him as a player (that semi-final cock-up was pretty horrific, though) but his punditry is an utter disgrace.

To be fair to Burley I dont think its that he hates Chelsea, he just seems to hate everything about football.

It amazes me, he would probably have washed out toilets for a living if it wasnt for football, yet he hates all of it. Miserable w**ker.

William Gallas

I can't hate Gallas. I know it all ended on a sour note but he gave us too many good moments to hate him and as we said recently on another thread, his centre back partnership with JT is the best I have ever seen.

I also still like Poyet (I'm obviously a very forgiving chap!).

Don't think I hate anyone who played for us but I'm not a massive fan of Townsend.
