Paul Pogba - Needs to Sign!

Featured Replies

Pogba is infinitely better than Ramires.

Obviously but you need squad players, we can't just have a side full of world class footballers, you bring Pogba into the side and that means some of our other key players have less game time.

Ramires is a great player to have in the big games, he is without a doubt one of the fittest players in the league or even the world, he never gets tired. He was crucial for us the Man City game and we would have lost that one for definite had he not been playing.

He isn't the best footballer but he is definitely a great squad player, see that I'm wrong come the end of the season, we will regret selling him if we do.

Apart from that city game, I can't think of another game he has particularly impressed in since Jose took over. I know he is struggling with injury this season, but he has had very little impact for a while now.

So if we sign Pogba how does that help us to rest/rotate Hazard?

Both Matic and Fabregas have sat out only about 5 or 6 games between them all season so far and I'm just struggling to see how you can sign someone of the caliber and profile of Pogba and give him and the existing players enough game time to keep them all happy.

I do understand the argument of having more top quality players but I just don't see how it would realistically work.

Play a midfield 3 of Matic Pogba Fabregas with Oscar wide on the right. He's probably our best crosser of the ball, and would still be able to get into good central positions to contribute to build up and score goals.

Exactly what I was going to say. Our midfield is weak when matic has a bad game. Pogba would iron this out. I want this guy more than anyone, this would solve the problem on the right as well. Oscar is a world class player and can play on the right as well as he can down the middle.

It would be matic as defensive mid, pogba as box to box mid, fabregas as creative mid, hazard and oscar as forwards on the left and right and Costa as striker.

This ain't going to happen

Utd and Madrid will battle it out for him and end up paying somewhere between 50-80 million for him and over 200k a week. He just isn't worth that sort of money no matter how good he is

If there wasn't FFP we could go for this guy but we can't afford to spend this type of money on one player. We have other areas of the squad that need looking at.

When looking at how other clubs spend and stuff, it feels like we are the only club restricted by FFP.

Dunno its hard to say Barca had to sell Fabregas and Sanchez to get here new signings, PSG only bought Luiz in the summer and couldn't get Di Maria. City spending has decreased but i know what you mean its almost like we have to sell a player these days to buy someone.

FFP is great for Real Madrid and Utd especailly.

All I can say is give it a full season, same with Andre Schurrle.

Still a lot to play for this season, more things are yet to happen. I don't think this is something to decide now.

Don't forget Bayern Munich ;)

Jk Lewandowski was a free transfer. :P

To reply your post seriously I don't think Man C care much for FFP by the way they are spending. I think it is their own ineptitude in the transfer market. So far they are unable to find players to build on their squad like they did when they signed Aguero, Silva, Nasri, and Yaya. They have so far wasted buying players who just eat up space in their squad and money on their wage bill. In my opinion that is why FFP is currently afflicting them more than any other club. I bet most Man C fans expect to go big for guys like Reus, Pogba, or Koke but I doubt they will without shedding a lot of talent from their squad or facing more penalties. I don't know what their financial situation is currently but for FFP to be on them already while ignoring Chelsea and PSG so far must mean they are on the edge.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has come out and said that he will leave Juventus in a massive deal within the next 18 months:

"I want the club that buys him to believe in him and be willing to pay for him. If Paul leaves Juventus, it is for the absolute top. If it does not happen this year, it will be next year.

Paul is at the same level economically as the other big stars and has a similar reputation, so he could stay for another year. But Paul is the only major star who is available at the end of the season.

If you cannot take Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Zlatan Ibrahimovic, you can only go for Paul.

If someone wants him, the market situation could see him go for more than 100million euros.

AC Milan wanted to sign him, together with Genoa, and then send him there on loan. Inter said they did not want to create a row with (former Manchester United boss) Sir Alex Ferguson.

With Juve, the deal was quite simple. They signed him, gave him the wages of a first-team player and did not send him out on loan.

Antonio Conte deserves the credit for Paul's development. He [Pogba] needs someone who tells him to do his thing and give him some space."

Sorry to fan the flames, especially considering the grandiose nonsense he was coming out with, which I imagine was just a PR opportunity to get Pogba's name mentioned in the same breath as Messi/Ronaldo and thus inflate his value. I know there is rarely steam without a big pile of bullsh*t, but I also know a lot of Chelsea fans have been clinging to this one. What do you all think?

We seem to be treading the FFP line a lot closer than most despite us having decent revenues of our own, I reckon a big transfer is in the pipe line this summer.

Could be Pogba, could be Varane, not sure who but I think it'll be a bit of a statement signing to go along with the new shirt sponsorship.

£75m i would still take him. We would probably get around £20m for Ramires and easily another £10-£20m from selling youngsters.

I'd much rather go for a central defender though, That's our only issue within the next 2 years

I've had this feeling for a while.

don't think he is worth 70m, but if we can comfortably afford him, i'd be delighted to see him play for us.

For 75m we can complete our squad, which would be a better scenario. Imbula in for Mikel. Varane in. Another forward to replace Drogba or Remy. The age of squad is great for overall market value. And the one in - one out method is keeping our net spend quite low.
