Danny Welbeck

I like him and I think given a run of games up front at someone like spurs or everton, he would score goals on a regular bases. Similar situation to sturridge for me, although im not sure if he would be right for us.

Agree with that, whilst I don't think he is as good as Sturridge. I think he would be a good player for a Europa League contender. Though he's work better for a counter attacking side than a possession based team like Everton or Southampton.

I think if Sunderland stay up, they should look to sign him. He could make them a top half team. Newcastle also look a good fit, but that team is going in one direction, and it's not pretty

I like him too but as a striker he finishing is really inconsistent, seems to miss the easy chances but score the hard ones. If he wants to play as a CF i wouldn't want him here as we have Lukaku and looking likely we will have Costa.

He is a Mourinho type player though athletic, hard working, speed and strength.

Wouldn't mind him considering what we have at the moment.

Costa / Lukaku / Welbeck would be decent for next season.

I doubt we're buying both Costa and Cavani as that is an insane bill.

Dont see him leaving Utd as 3rd choice to come to Chelsea to be 3rd choice.

Terrible player, about Sunderlands level and will be at a team like that if a decent manager comes into united. I rate him so little that anyone who thinks his decent, in my opinion, has little to no knowledge of him, they can't watch him regularly enough, they are very suggestible to what commentators say about him and believe the English hype created from nowhere, either that or they don't know what makes a good football player, his touch is one of the worst I've ever seen from a professional football player but his pace allows him to make up for his blunders, his goal scoring record is shocking, although improved this year. He wouldn't even get in the Chelsea squad let alone the bench and even less likely the team, he is not good enough for the England team and I'd leave him at home.

Funny that you say that Sunderland is his level, he was there on loan before returning to United, maybe he should have stayed there.

I agree with everything you have said here. How he get's into the England team is a joke, the same goes for Cleverley. The only reason they are in there is because they play for United, that is the only reason i can think of. What are these 2 doing that warrants an England place ? I know England are not the greatest right now but bloody hell i can think of a ton of better players that could go ahead of them.

I hated Hodgson's excuse for picking Cleverley, he said he done well in the qualifiers for England so deserves a place  So he can play like absolute sh*te for the whole season for United and still get a call up ? great logic Hodgson. Also anyone can play well against some of the teams we had in our group, 4 of the games involved San Marino and Moldova for goodness sake.

Sorry for going off topic, it just annoys me when players like Welbeck playing for England is mentioned.

I remember him being at Sunderland and I think that's why I always think he should go there, suited the shirt, plus they seem like a dumping ground for united rejects.

As for England, is off topic but you're completely right, what about players like Huddleston or puncheon? Don't even get a look in cause of who they play for, not saying they'd start but I'd take them over cleverly for sure, could go on a rant about England for ages but not the right place

Think some people are underrating Welbeck, Utd fans rate him and they see him every week. Cleverley on the other hands is f**king garbage.

United fans rate him because he was made in United. Welbeck would not be an improvement to our squad at all as he is only as clinical as Eto'o I'd say.

The very last player we'd need to straighten out our finishing woes.

I don't think Welbeck's finishing is any worse than Dzeko's, it's just that Dzeko plays in a better team and gets more chances. I seem to recall quite a few people here wanting Dzeko as well.

I like Welbeck, he's a decent player with a great attitude and always works his arse off but he's never been a proven goalscorer. Maybe given a chance playing as striker for a good team he'd start scoring more but who knows, he's definitely not the final piece of the jigsaw that we're looking for.

I wouldn't fancy him in a blue shirt to be honest. He has been very very inconsistent this season. He has had a couple flashes of brilliance but nothing to write home about.

Put it this way, with Utds season, I wouldnt fancy any of their strikers, except maybe Chicharito. But even he is nothing more than an impact player and we already have one of those.
