his second tweet

That West Ham fan was right, Frank Lampard was no good as a player after all.

— Harry Redknapp (@Redknapp) June 8, 2015

:laugh2:

Twitter is a horrible place, you seen some of the bile being directed at him in reply to that message?

Read the other day that Phil Neville had death threats and abuse against his disabled child.

How can anyone could think that's ok and normal behaviour is beyond me.

We should be praising Harry right now.

Helped destroy one of the most despicable clubs in the country (QPR) and left with a belter of an excuse too (gammy knee) .

Sadly there are some despicable people out there. By and large Twitter is a pretty good, though if I were a celebrity my opinion would probably be quite different. Seems as though some people have such sad lives that they get a kick out of being a c***.

Darren Bent released from Aston Villa on a free transfer.

They paid £24m for him in January 2011 buy only ended up making 60 odd league appearances after a falling out with Lambert.

Had a great striker rate prior to joining Villa and even managed 12 goals in 17 games for Derby this season.

Will be a great free signing for whoever picks him up.

Sol Campbell has stated his intention to run for London Mayor.

"I'm going in with my eyes wide open. I know I'm not going to be a frontrunner.

"But I look at people who have been in politics for five, 10, 15 years, and muck up, you see them muck up and think, 'You guys are supposed to be pro!'

"People [who] have gone to Oxbridge, had thousands spent on their education, and I mean they are royally mucking up," he said.

Not sure if this means he's given up on his coaching aspirations, last I read he will still in the process of completing his badges.

Not sure I can see many people voting for someone who doesn't stick something out personally.

How surreal!  Didn't see this one coming!

Sol Campbell plans London mayor bid as Conservative

Former England footballer Sol Campbell has confirmed his intention to become the next Mayor of London.

The ex-Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur defender said he could "bring something new to the table" as the Conservative nomination.

He said he wanted to "change London for everybody" but acknowledged he would not be a "frontrunner".

Campbell, 40, will take part in a hustings event with other candidates for the Tory nomination on 4 July.

Boris Johnson is planning to stand down as London Mayor in 2016.

Campbell, who also played for Portsmouth and Newcastle, told the Sun: "I'm going in with my eyes wide open.

Asked whether he could count on the votes of Spurs fans still bitter over his 2001 move to north London rivals Arsenal, Campbell said: "If we keep thinking about football, we're not going to do anything.

"We are dealing with people's lives here. I want to change London for everybody."

The Conservative Way Forward group confirmed that Campbell had signed up to take part in its mayoral hustings next month.

"We are delighted that candidates like Sol Campbell are throwing their hat in the ring and coming to debate the future of London at our hustings on 4 July," a spokesman said.

Also in the running for the Tory candidacy are entrepreneur Ivan Massow, current deputy mayor Stephen Greenhalgh and London Assembly member Andrew Boff, while MP Zac Goldsmith has also been tipped as a potential challenger.

I wonder what his excuse will be if he doesn't become mayor........

Darren Bent gone back to Derby in the end.

Liverpool sending out a real message of intent by signing Adam Bogdan, Danny Ings and James Milner this week

I think it will be us or United for the league next season. Arsenal could challenge too if they replaced Wenger this summer (which they won't)

Londonblue, are you discounting City?

Anyone expecting big changes for City this summer? Talk of Pellegrini being sacked has gone a bit quiet (perhaps due to availability of quality managers). Do you think they will be more focused on fighting for Pogba or adding English players to replace Milner and Lampard?

Even if City signed Pogba they wouldn't challenge us

If they are looking to add English players then who? Charlie Austin? Raheem Sterling? Saido Berahino? John Stones?

who else is available.

If Aguero has another great season without injury then City will finish top 3

with Players like Mangala, Demichelis, Zabaleta, Fernandinho, Navas, Bony, Jovetic in contention for their starting line up I cant see Pellegrino getting the better of Jose

Milner will be the best signing for Rogers. I think he's one of those just want to play every game, like Duff when he left us. I think BR will try him on every position on the field, it it does;t work out, it's the weight of the shirt that's the problem

I think people are writing off City far to easily, this is what they do, one year they're in the thick of it and the next not. There played may be ageing but they didn't become bad players overnight. On Mangala aswell I think people need to remember last season was his first in English football plus we know they're going to spend, they need a few squad players now along with maybe one major signing. I wouldn't be so quick to write them off and I think they will challenge.

The only "bad" player you listed there is Jovetic and he most likely won't be there come the end of the transfer window.

The ex-Liverpool mob are obviously a bit concerned by the club's transfer dealings to date, they've gone from slamming Sterling and his attitude/behaviour etc and saying he is greedy and disrespectful and now they're changing their tune and saying he is being misled and needs to nature his career by staying at the club.

Aldridge quoted as saying:

“His agent has got to realise the predicament he has got this lad into,” he said.

“The way he has gone about handling the situation with Raheem is pathetic.

“Look after the lad. This is a baby. He had a real good spell from November to February and the lad has since just disappeared up his own backside.

“Yesterday [for England] epitomised what he has come to.”

“He’s a baby,” he said. “He’s only 20 years of age and he has lost everything going for him at this moment in time.

"And it is purely down to his agent.

“Surely the agent could have sat down and come to an amicable arrangement with Liverpool.

“This lad is still serving his apprenticeship as a footballer. He is better off where he is and his agent should see this.

“I feel sorry for the lad because obviously he knows the agent well. He believes everything he says and he is leading him down the garden path.”

CIty have an ageing squad and a manager who seemed to lose the ability to motivate the players last season. They need new blood in both positions but they seem to be holding off on replacing Pellegrini so they can make a run at Guardiola next summer.

That is a dangerous position to be in.

The way those ex Liverpool players have come out about this whole Sterling thing is pathetic tbh. It's screams of desperation and the whole delusion of Liverpool that how dare this young lad want to leave etc. I mean Carragher was fuming on Sky TV about it. It's just laughable how pathetic that club is.

You can just imagine the abuse they would have showered upon Slippy G if he had the balls to make the move to us back then.
