September 28, 201411 yr Without being patronising (ok maybe a bit). Has there ever less glamorous fixture in recent memory then W.B.A. vs Burnley. I wonder what poor bar steward is going to be on MOTD 2 hope it's Robbie Savage.

September 28, 201411 yr Actually, since the number of former Scouse players as pundits is declining, I've started watching MotD again. I have no complaints about the coverage of our match yesterday.
September 28, 201411 yr The reason for the poor choice of Sunday football is it's the final day in the Ryder Cup and Sky obviously want that to hog the limelight, Hence why they didn't decide moving one of City, Chelsea or United's game to the 5.30 slot yesterday and move the North London derby to the 4pm slot for today, I was thinking yesterday, When was the last time the big 3 all played during the 3pm slot, Doesn't happen often does it.
September 28, 201411 yr I did think the commentary for the second goal was rather underwhelming, it was a really nice well worked team goal with some creative approach play. I think it's more just a comment on the general lack of quality in the commentary than anything

Ah now it makes sense and no it doesn't

September 28, 201411 yr Come on guys! Just move on, we're all in it for Chelsea remember. I'm chilled guys...as joey admits, he's been having a problem with me since before the summer...I will just get on with it, whether I moan about the media or not... Edited September 28, 201411 yr by The Brit

September 28, 201411 yr Back to the Rooney incident, I saw the highlights and he was clearly ticked off about the ref not stopping the play for a handball on a West Ham player, I think it was Sakho, and he yelled at the ref, didn't get anything and thought he'd take out Downing as revenge. He could have clipped his heels or grabbed his shirt but he kicked him high, almost at his waist and studs up. Clear red.
September 28, 201411 yr Just stumbled upon this article from September 2002. It lists all the ins and outs of the Premier League teams during that transfer window. Great to scroll through for a bit of nostalgia and quip to yourself, "Oh I totally forgot about that player, what ever happened to him?" I've been doing it for about thirty minutes now. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2002/sep/04/newsstory.sport Here's a few of my favorite bits: LEEDS UNITED Nick Barmby (Liverpool, £2.75m): Bargain signing by Venables. Certain to do well given previous record under manager. EVERTON Richard Wright (Arsenal, £3.5m) England's "future No1" rotted behind England's current No1 in the Highbury pecking order. Sounds like a classic Everton purchase. LIVERPOOL Bruno Cheyrou (Lille £4m) Free-scoring French midfielder tipped for great things. Edited September 28, 201411 yr by Butterhampton FC

September 28, 201411 yr Bruno Cheyrou (Lille £4m) Free-scoring French midfielder tipped for great things. In fairness he scored twice against us at the Bridge one season when the Dippers won. That was pretty much all he did though. Re: Rooney - I guess his suspension means that Mata will most probably play against us now.
September 28, 201411 yr Re: Rooney - I guess his suspension means that Mata will most probably play against us now. It's true, hope he has an awful game!
September 29, 201411 yr If it was just a trip it's yellow, but it was a booting and a definite red. Can't believe there's even a question. I can only say that almost no one would have even talked about or questioned this decision if Rooney had got a yellow for that tackle. It would have been almost quietly accepted which in my mind equates to a red being harsh.

It would have been almost quietly accepted which in my mind equates to a red being harsh. I disagree, it would most definitely had been talked about. It was a wild swing not some trip. Plus you don't think the media like to jump on anything they can?they all love controversy, had he gotten away with it I'm sure the MOTD panel for one would have still questioned the incident.
September 29, 201411 yr It's the kind of one that if he didn't raise his foot so high it would be a yellow. He's a tosser though and cracking under the pressure
September 29, 201411 yr i didn't think the man utd fans were actually going through with the banner saying "ronaldo come home" it seems they did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kzr6XRLfZNk
