haha. Sterling is already better than him and is seven years younger.

My thoughts exactly. Sterling is best English player right now and is a huge asset for Liverpool.. I just can't see him joining Madrid and I can't see Madrid wanting to buy him whilst they have Bale, Ronaldo, James Rodriguez etc

While I do enjoy seeing British players go abroad, I would be gutted to see Sterling leave the Prem this early. I agree with you and I think it would be bad for his development if he went to Real with all those players ahead of him. Liverpool better do everything they can to keep hold of him.

on a separate issue I wouldn't mind it if Brendan Rogers moved to Spain to help with his footballing education..

I could imagine him as the new manager of Elche or Levante

And it would mean we would no longer have to put up with his pathetic radio phone-ins and weak ,long winded excuses

Sterling is a 1 season wonder now we are seeing the real him. He looked like an amateur in the champions league proving he's all pace and nothing else. Sinclair is miles ahead in touch and technique just hard for Sinclair to get a look in with us because we have tons of world class players.

He's 19 years old and he's among the leading goalscorers in the Premier League this season. He has one bad game and now he is an amateur?

Koppins you're foolish and making other Man City Shed End posters look bad. Sinclair would be lucky to play in the Champions League. He was playing for the reserves on loan at West Brom last year!

You can't be serious.

No, I don't think he is. He's clearly a WUM who tries to play Devils Advocate in nearly every thread. Frankly he has become a bore and I'd just wish he'd f**k off. I put him on ignore a while back but unfortunately he keeps getting re quoted.

Would there be any interest in creating a former players thread? So we could follow the former players that we still enjoy or is there already an overarching thread to discuss this.

I wanted to post about Kalou, and I did in the Bundesliga thread, but thought there should be some place better and I didn't want to go digging through the General Chelsea threads and find the Kalou archive from a few years ago.

There is a "Following our exes" thread.

I don't know how can anyone say Raheem may not move to Real. Let's look at it from a professional point of view. If Liverpool doesn't win anything for the next brace of years, he might be gone.

Koppins is a rag or a dipper pretending to be a City fan and therefore thinks by acting like a 42 carrat nonse instead of you lot dissing his own team you will diss another team and he won't genuinely get wound up and therefore can prolong his trolling, From his first few posts i knew what he was about.

Having said all that, He could be a converted City fan who developed a liking for us by playing as Aguero and Silva on FIFA.

Don't see why Real would want him. They have much better already.

Since when has that stopped them in the past

Yeah, fans on a forum slagging if a player 3 years in is exactly the same as his manager throwing balotelli under a bus. What a strange thing to say.

But DKW, he signed for you 31/1/11, and left at the end of August 2014. The link referred to January 2013. The point I was making was it wasn't at the end of his time with you as was being suggested. I know he was two years in but the point is he still had a fair amount of time with you before he eventually left.

I agree that BR has made some strange comments regards MB though, and wonder what he's thinking regards how MB will react to it.

Anyway off to Anfield shortly with the good e-wishes of this forum ringing in my ears to watch us struggle against the mighty West Brom.

I think he's got a lot of development to do before Real will seriously look at him. Doesn't score enough goals for me just yet, although whether that will come with time is debatable. I think you've either got that finishing touch or you haven't, and it's not something that can be coached.

Pink,

Raheem is the most talented English player around, at least to me. He is still young enough to become much better. I believe, he will be better in a twosome of years.

Sterling is a speed merchant right now, we've seen plenty of young pacey English wingers hailed as the next big thing only to fizzle out in obscurity/mediocrity by the age of 25.

You'll have to excuse my cynicism fir thinking Sterling might be another of those players and nay even be just another one (half?) season wonder.

I'm not the only one that sees sterling for what he is. He's all pace take that away and he doesn't have much else to offer. Look at the uber talented like Ronaldo and Suarez and how they beat a man with deft touches then look at sterling who kicks it passed them and relies on his speed to be able to get to the ball faster. When was the last time sterling nutmegged someone? I've never seen him hit it on the volley either. I'm not saying that he's not looking good right now but you have to see the forest for the trees with this kid.

I think both of you are greatly underestimating his technical ability, his passing and vision is fantastic and it's why he's been playing in the middle for so long.

He's not just a speed merchant, not at all.

Yeah, technically he is good, a much better passer that given credit for, and deceivingly strong for his stature. I certainly wouldn't mind Sterling at Chelsea, but pool will want a big price for him. Much prefer him over a player like Barkley to be honest. He has the talent and I think Jose would be a great manager to bring the very best out of him. I'm pretty sure he would work his a$$ off defensively too.

I think you're being more than a little harsh on him. He's not just the next Lennon, SWP, etc. he seems to have more in his locker than players of that ilk. For large parts of last season he was played down the middle of the pitch which is a sign that his manager must believe that he has the requisite intelligence (a very understated quality in footballers) to impact games from there. At times he also seemed one of a small amount of English players truly comfortable with the ball at their feet - in fact the national team would greatly benefit by having more players like Sterling.

Every time I see Skrtel, he is even more of a thug than the last time. Surely there is a limit to the level of thuggishness a person can achieve?
