September 9, 201411 yr It's easy to say play the youth and develop them but what happens when we lose and a proven international player is left on the bench? The support would go f**king nuts and call for the managers head. That's the reality here. Edited September 9, 201411 yr by RFC_CFC
September 9, 201411 yr Graham, That's why I wonder why blame successful teams like Chelsea or even Citeh? Roman came, rescued Chelsea, invested money and wants to see results. How about if the FA do the same & maybe in ten years we may see England in the final?
September 9, 201411 yr If the argument is that our academies are sh*te and that we should give the youth a chance, Well let's say we give some academy prospects a chance in the first team against a relegation battling side at home, What if the academy prospect is not English? Then what happens? Do we tell the academy prospect 'Sorry pal, Despite you being the best in our academy we can't give you a place in the side due to you being Spanish or Dutch, Instead we are going to give the lesser English player in our academy a place', That's not right. The other thing is, If we admit our academies are not producing good players and say we want to purchase top quality English talent from other sides and by top quality English talent i mean one's who have a bit of hype around them nothing more than that, We get thrown extortionate prices our way due to the simple fact the selling club has a young English player for sale. If City or Chelsea had a choice of getting Pogba for £35 million or Barkley for £42 million because Everton want to get every last penny out of their biggest asset, Who do you think is the value for money and the wiser option? I'm sorry it's Pogba all day long.
September 9, 201411 yr QPR could be relegated to the Conference League unless they pay a £40 million FFP fine. Now, wouldn't that be shame - he says sarcastically. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/sep/09/queens-park-rangers-football-league-ffp

It's generating us a lot of income through loan agreements and hopefully potential transfers.

The only way they'll learn is by relegation. Ridiculous, it's either relegation or a severe points deduction.

So the clubs who over-spend just make the other rich clubs richer. How is this "Fair Play" exactly?
September 9, 201411 yr We should. Our youth player development is f**king awful. It isn't awful though, loads of our academy players are around the league's now. It's maybe awful for our squad thougg, but that's a different argument.
September 9, 201411 yr Not sure which two teams are involved but a terrible miss. http://www.gfycat.com/LameParchedFinch Didn't Nani do something similar to Ronaldo where he tried to tap in a ball that was clearly going from Ronaldo only to knock it off line?
September 9, 201411 yr ^ He tapped the ball in but it was disallowed as he was offside. Ronaldo's reaction was priceless. Edited September 9, 201411 yr by DannyD

How about if the FA do the same & maybe in ten years we may see England in the final? Roman came, bought everything including supporters ( flags included ) and is still short changed. If you consider yourself a big club, then why is it you cannot produce talented young players? I dont mean buy them, i mean produce them. Take that young lad of the street and make him a world beater? The answer is simple. You are a club that buys. Throw money at a problem. Every top club has a player that has a given player that has talent, for example, take Man Utd. Welbeck, sold for £16 million. Chelsea cannot say they same. The youth players have little to no value to your club, Ryan Bertrand. How good was he? and how much did he go for? Your club have a youth set up but I have to ask, why? I see many of you supporters willing the lads to succeed, but they have no chance. The reporter is right in what in he says. Generally, if you have money, what else matters??

Wasn't it somewhere around £150 million this transfer window alone? And "that reporter" is Adrian Durham. Nuff said.

So generally, you have no argument? Keep waving that flag, its free after all. Ok clever scouse c**t - and with your snide little digs about the free flags, I feel more than justified in referring to you as such. Incidentally, you forgot to describe the flags as "plastic" which they're not, as it happens, but don't let that stop you. And it's ok, I won't bother looking for pictures of Liverpool fans waving their free flags. Roman bought everything, including supporters? This implies that we had no fans prior to Ambramovich. Fair enough, it must have been my imagination that I, like thousands of others, stood on the terraces watching Chelsea home and away during the '70s and '80s. And to answer the inevitable question of why I stopped going, I moved away from London. To say that Abramovich bought the supporters is plainly insulting, a snide little dig from a snide scouse c**t. But let's move on. Here we have the Big Club argument so beloved of self-righteous scousers everywhere. Who really cares about what constitutes a big club? Liverpool fans, that's who. The entire Big Club (we're a big club, you're not) argument is based on a sense of insecurity, a need to reassure yourselves that, yes you truly are as big and as "right" as you want to believe. On our youth policy. Look at the recent achievements of the youth sides. Go on, look it up. When you've done so, you may just admi that our recent record at youth level is very impressive - and many of those players have been at the club since they were very young. Produced by the club, in other words. In fact, Ryan Bertrand, who joined when he was 15, I believe, from Gillingham, was a comparatively late acquisition, agewise. The youth set up in its current incarnation is still very new. This system has so far produced many players who have gone on, and who look likely to go on, to have successful careers as professional footballers. Of these, there are a few l have come close to making the breakthrough. Josh McEachren is a classic example of so close but yet so far. Ray Wilkins had high hopes for him; as a youngster he appeared to have all the quatlities required to make it at the top level. Maybe it's an attitude thing, I'm not sure, but Josh's career hasn't quite worked out as hoped. There are also several (perhaps more than several) players in the pipeline who may yet make it into Chelsea's first team squad, as opposed to being regular starters for teams either less successful and/or lower down the leagues. Lewis Baker, to name but one. So why do we have a youth set up? The first reason I've already outlined, the possibility of producing our own home grown players. With FFP and Home Grown rules, it's something the club are increasingly prioritising. Secondly, a successul youth system can be highly profitable, and so helps towards FFP, if not the Home Grown rules. Your argument that in recent years, the club haven't been successful in bringing players through the ranks. But they are working on it. We've come close, and we are getting there. Your argument is missing the word "yet", and overlooks the simple and undeniable fact that for too long, the youth policy at Stamford Bridge was allowed to fall into neglect. What you're seeing now is the beginnings of the revival of that youth system. And finally, to go back to my previous post: "That Reporter" is Adrian Durham, wind-up merchant and bullsh*tter supreme. You really do have to be pathetically desperate to have to resort to the likes of that twat to support your argument. Edited September 10, 201411 yr by Big Figure

Have you found this moral high ground or something here? That greaaat you have developed Jordan Henderson, I would rather win things if I'm perfectly honest. Our team isn't just a mercenary team that's a pretty ignorant argument, everyone knows especially you scousers that claim we are murdering football that Chelsea is a very hard working team or should I just say anti football to make you feel better. Our players would run through walls for Mourinho and never give up, could you say the same for your team? I doubt that, your philosophy is different and no matter what a player does, whether he starts biting people it doesn't really matter. Because you needed him and you kept him, so don't start taking this moral f**king high ground here okay, you're not an angel club and we are not a devil club, we just have more money and it's not as if Liverpool have spent nothing in the past few years is it. And now you have replaced a twat with another twat, it seems you guys don't really draw the line with players and personalities do you, you would probably buy gary glitter if he had the ability of Zidane and then probably wear his t shirts when another one of his sex scandal comes up for support because at Liverpool we support everyone no matter how evil you are, we are just a great club with great fans. You want to talk about team spirit and determination? Okay lets see who sticks it out the longest, you guys clearly play the better football we should see who finishes above you. Our players are much stronger than yours mentally and physically, you should know that when you couldn't beat our C team in your most important game of the season.
September 10, 201411 yr Our players are much stronger than yours mentally and physically, you should know that when you couldn't beat our C team in your most important game of the season. Who are all these young scouse players you've brought through in the last 10 years that have gone on to play for their country? Considering g you only have to compete with everton in your city for local talent, you would think the mighty reds would attract the best kids? Everton have produced more than you in the last 10 years. The reason for that was partly because your beloved rafa benitez saturated your academy and youth teams with Spanish players. It has nothing to do with plastic flags. Every club at the top is guilty of not giving local lads a fair crack. Why is liverpool any different? Because they have given a shot to QPR raised sterling? Considering we haven't been in a major final for 50 years, id say the only people to blame for England's failings, are the English F.A. who have overseen 3 decades of unsuccessful England tournaments, before roman rocked up and 'ruined' football.
September 10, 201411 yr Im confused - Abuse of scouser about producing players? Currently Liverpool have the same number of players they produced playing for them regularly as We do... 1 What's his point?
