I'm honestly thinking I'll have to sue Liverpool soon for damages soon since I haven't stopped laughing since slippy g did his electric boogaloo tribute at afield last year

And now they booed Sterling at the end of season awards when he picked up young player of the year http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11669/9856930/raheem-sterling-booed-at-liverpool-awards-ceremony-as-speculation-continues

They truly are the gift that keeps on giving, Godspeed agent Brendan

Anyone see a pissed up van Gaal give a real cringe speech at utds player of season awards tonight...the guy was ranting like a drunk on a street corner...and his most bitter outburst is still over our win over them...I just can't see them coming back to the force they were with this nutter in charge...amusingly some Utd fans on twitter are painting him as a legend for it, but watching the clip, it is clear some of the audience are thinking 'what the fcuk - we put this guy in control?'

LvG lost that game because, just like every other manager of a big team we've faced in the league this season, they got outwitted and out-thought by the greatest manager in the world.

Here's my take. You think it's wise to pass up a game in order to go out partying till 3 am? Sure, maybe it's rested your batteries a little....somehow, but really what it has done is shown that you lack hunger and ambition if not also integrity. I've never felt too tired to be grossly over paid to play a sport and then thought "ah, bless my tired legs, they need to go to the club till 3 am to recharge"

You're making in a week what most make in a year, if not double, and at 21 you are too tired to play a game at most three times a week. How will he keep up at 28? A professional athlete is not likely to gain more stamina after that age, the body is pretty much at peak for someone already in full time professional training.

I'll just say it's a delicous irony he is in the same team as Balotelli because he is looking at his future. Thinking his talent is enough to let him take it easy while other pros at the same age are putting in extra training. That's the path he is heading down except that, in my opinion , Balotelli had far more talent to take for granted.

Perhaps I'm wrong, perhaps I'm harsh, but I struggle to think of a pro player with a career to admire who needed such rests so early in their career. Nothing wrong with his body or he'd be missing out due to injury, it's all in his head and I for one wouldn't be willing to pay 160k or so a week to someone with that weak of a drive and that poor of a mentality.

You can pull out the vigor of a pro athlete but at his age I was delivering drywall for 70-80 hours a week, 6 days a week. I would of absolutely had a field day swapping that for a footballers grueling routine of a few hours hard work a day haha. Then again , I didn't have the stress of carrying huge bags of money home from work, fair play to Sterling.

Addressing the wages issue.... He was rested but still on the bench for an England game. I believe players no longer receive payment for internationals.

As for him resting, we've been saying for years that we shouldn't run young players into the ground, that we should avoid a Wilshire situation. Yet he played more league minutes than EVERY player in our squad bar three.

Liverpool and their fans got their money's worth didn't they?

He's 20 years old, there is no getting away from that. I don't begrudge him the odd drink and party as long as it's not interfering with his job. If he's been given some time of for rest then I see nothing wrong with going out, the alternative is he feels a prisoner in his own home?

Naturally, I would expect him to buckle down at some point and rearlise that in order to fufill his potential he needs to make cirtain life style sacrifices. This would also be helped by a decent manager

Just to clear it up, there's two 'breaks' with Sterling. One was a planned one where he went to Jamaica and missed a couple of games, including the FA Cup match with Wimbledon.

The other was the Estonia game where he said his legs felt tired. But not only did he feature on the bench, not only did he come on for 30 minutes, he also won the free kick Rooney scored the winner from.

And then he went to a club when he returned home.

I just want to apologize on behalf of all the Dutch people for that twat van Gaal.
Truste me, we are not all like this, don't be afraid of us, don't be afraid to visit our country. Most of us are harmless.

Just seen that Andre-Pierre Gignac is available on a free this summer.

Checked and he's got 23 goals in 38 appearances this season for Marseille. Wouldn't be surprised to see him end up in the Premier League next season.

Looks like Van Gaal has found Fergies wine stash under the desk.

I was going to say, 'or a lot of advocaat' then thought of Sunderland, then remembered 'Dick', so no, that sounds wrong all round.

Dutch people are the nicest, friendliest group I have encountered on my travels.

Wow, that's actually a very strong squad. Only problem is that there's not much on the wings but some real possible stars of the future in there.

That Sterling fella would have been quite good but I think he's a little preoccupied at the moment.

Not many young wingers about at the moment thinking about it. Surprised Zaha wasn't called up in truth.
