Schalke 04 vs Chelsea (CL) 25/11/14 KO - 19:45

I'm pretty sure that a score draw will ensure qualification considering our GD compared to their's.

Would like to see

--------Courtois

Azpi-Terry-Cahill-Luis

--Ramires-Matic

Schurrle-Oscar-Hazard

---------Remy

CL is done head to head.

Isn't quite a must win, but a draw would make the final game vs Sporting must win.

I was thinking that but if hypothetically... we were to draw 1-1 with Schalke and then went on to lose against Sporting, with Schalke beating Maribor. We would be level on points with Schalke, with an equal H2H record but a superior GD. Depending on whether Sporting won the other game to top the group and how many goals Mari ship against 04.

Trying to get my head around something that is incredibly unlikely.

Hardly seems worth it. Lets hope we win.

No mucking around, let's play the best 11 and get the 3 points we need. I don't think Schalke is in great shape at moment, RDM or not, we need to beat them,

They aren't. Hovering around mid-table, with an unbalanced, inconsistent squad and some injury issues.

Complacency notwithstanding, we should beat them.

It is hard to know what RDM will do however. His teams can be very difficult to defeat once they go defensive, as we all know.

A win means we qualify and, just as importantly, win the group. Then we can rest players for the final game.

We need to play with the strongest team we can.

Group permutation ahead of the game:

Win - Beat Schalke and we will qualify for the last 16, including securing top spot in the group regardless of what happens in the Sporting Lisbon v Maribor game.

Draw - Get a point against Schalke and we will secure last 16 qualification, but not top spot yet unless Sporting fail to beat Maribor.

Lose - Lose in Germany and we'll drop to second on H2H record behind Schalke with everything to play for on matchday 6.

I think we should be pretty confident for this, they conceded three at home in the last game to sporting and only won because of a dodgy penalty therefore we should really have a go at thim and I think we can win comfortably.

Do you genuinely believe that, or are you saying it to rustle jimmies?

It's a tough away game, we usually lose one of the away games in the group stages
