March 13, 201511 yr Well of course they do but it's only disgusting when Chelsea do it. Because people love to hate Chelsea... They foam at the mouth and spew bile at us every chance they get. Just check the comments on this article. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/mar/12/chelsea-psg-jose-mourinho-dominic-fifield No one outside of Chelsea fans wants to see us win the league... No "neutrals choice" articles for us like we saw last year with Liverpool. Doesn't matter what we do or achieve as a club we absolutely despised and the best thing we can do is just keep our heads down, win the title and then tell everyone else "f**k you", we did it in spite of all you and I hope you all choke on your cornflakes at the sight of JT holding aloft another trophy. Much like that tapping up furore over Ashley Cole, when we were hung out to dry for doing something that has always been commonplace in football. A lot of people who do not support Chelsea are utterly obsessed with us. Look at the numbers who sign up here just to troll. I find it hard to believe that there are hoards of Chelsea fans posting on RAWK or Arsenal Mania. The names Chelsea, Mourinho, Terry, Costa or Abramovich cause them to completely discombobulate. Put one of those words in the title of a run of the mill article and it will typically get hundreds if not thousands of comments, and a large number from non-Chelsea fans. It's a bit like Jeremy Clarkson, who only has to sneeze and the BBC get a thousand complaints.
March 13, 201511 yr It annoys me how some fans have a go at other clubs fans like its their fault whatever happens with the team. I find it very childish tbh. Aslong as we win it I don't care it makes winning things even better when we get sh*t. Loads of clubs would love to be where we are. To be fair a majority of it is idiots having a laugh, but the thing is that type of stuff what spreads around social media becomes acceptable, why is the term 'rent boy' acceptable? To call every Chelsea fan it, why is it acceptable and funny to call every Chelsea fan a racist? I've had enough of it, but I've had enough of it for so long that I've just accepted it, it's pointless getting so upset about it really. From the early days I remember people used to say Chelsea are the most hated team in the league and 'rightly so' due to our big spending and sugar daddy money. Now our fans are always classed as disgraceful fans because of incidents like that what make the headlines, it's unfortunate really. But it's not going to die anytime soon so again pointless being upset about it, we've had it for years now, better get used to it.

March 13, 201511 yr I wondered at the time if that was because no one reacted to the matic foul, and there was no red. I was about to point out the irony. Certain media outlets who are condemning the team for trying to influence the refs where the same media outlets who seemed to deride the severity of the Barnes tackle because they team didn't show enough of a reaction. If I was Mourinho I would certainly have commented on that. I'm just sitting here wondering when the Chelsea porridge will taste just right to them.
March 13, 201511 yr I don't remember us being the enemies of football under Ancellotti. A lot of the bile against us is based on a dislike of Jose. People want to see his ego smashed. They can't cope with his sucesses. As for the ex Liverpool pundits, they're just afraid that they will never get back on their perch. Winning at any cost would be a legitimate policy if it was the Anfield way.
March 13, 201511 yr /\ Good post. I think there are a couple of other factors. In the 80s it was fine to have money, loadsa money remember and yuppies (not that the club was as monied then), but nowadays having cash seems to be bad taste. Also, having a Russian owner, as well as the associated cash and comments about where that comes from, seems less palatable than having an American owner for example. The Russian population and property ownership is significant in London and perhaps that also informs opinion of our club. Just some thoughts.
March 13, 201511 yr They got the apology they were screaming for. And I think Stiles was 'stood down' for a game or two.

They can't cope with his sucesses. We were the enemies of football when Carlo was here, they just tore into Terry instead, relentlessly. It's not about Jose, there has been bile directed at us since he arrived the first time, and it hasn't let up. Even under Rafa, the press finally had a Chelsea manager they were rooting for, for the simple reason we hated him. That's how much they hate us, right there. Instead of hating on the manager they decided to hate on the fans instead.
March 13, 201511 yr Rafa? Who's that then? Don't seem to remember any manager called that? You must be imagining things Davey.

March 13, 201511 yr Rafa? Was that the guy whose second name was Out? Hmm, you may have something there. Let's see - there was Jose, Avram, Scolari, Guus, Carlo, AVB, Robbie and Jose again, I don't think I've missed anyone. Oh yes. Of course. How could I forget.................. Butch managed us for a game or so in between Scolari and Guus didn't he?

Instead of hating on the manager they decided to hate on the fans instead. Any other Chelsea manager with Benitez' so so record here would have been torn to shreds and endured months of 'dead man walking' articles. Instead, we had well known Chelsea haters like Patrick Collins and Des Kelly gushing about what a great job he was doing and virtually begging Abramovich to keep him. It certainly wasn't because they had the club's best interests at heart.
March 13, 201511 yr It's odd, but Des Kelly's columns seem to have improved markedly since he started at the Evening Standard...a paper devoid of Patrick Collins...
March 13, 201511 yr I really don't get all this dirty Chelsea narrative. Like Carragher going on about how Jose will never be "loved" like Pep because of it. Pep's Barca were amazing, but they were also one of the dirtiest teams I've ever seen at the top level and I can' believe it's being forgotten already!
March 14, 201511 yr Carragher has shot himself in the foot, I don't think I can give that twat any respect again. Thing is it's funny because we are going to see Liverpool do that eventually then what is he going to say? Why don't they think before they speak it's embarrassing, like Chelsea are the only team what surround the referee. After Hazard not getting protection and the horror tackle on Matic, can you blame the players for being startled? Many people thought it was a horror tackle to begin with. Why is it just instantly that everyone thinks we are cheating.
March 15, 201511 yr Some on here may think, had we been beaten today by Burnley, then we'd have been first on MOTD, whereas City were 2nd. I, however, believe MOTD has been fair to us this season and would still have picked the astonishing Sunderland v Villa game. I don't think MOTD are part of any media campaign. I think Lineker works very hard on this. Unlike Sky Edited March 15, 201511 yr by NorthernMonkey
March 15, 201511 yr Villa were gonna be on first today with that win no matter what I reckon, a team that couldn't score a goal put 4 past a relegation rival. I actually think Villa will most definitely stay up now.
March 23, 201511 yr Anyone heard anything on the stamp by Martin Skrtel at all? Edited March 23, 201511 yr by Imran_CFC
March 23, 201511 yr Anyone heard anything on the stamp by Martin Skrtel at all? I think the Slovakian post office considered it but decided they'd rather go with the more photogenic Marek Hamsik.
March 23, 201511 yr Anyone heard anything on the stamp by Martin Skrtel at all? On another thread it's said that only the Mirror has commented and there's a link. Can anyone point me to the post with all the Costa back pages please?
March 23, 201511 yr I'm sure the papers will use the excuse that the Costa stamp took place when there weren't lots of other games to report on, but the Liverpool ManU game yesterday was one of the biggest of the season, so they really have no excuse for not mentioning Frankenskrtel and his filthy behaviour... Still not expecting a peep out of the press especially as Sky saw fit to ignore it, in their rush to laud Stevie Me for his "classy apology" yesterday. Liverpool: pumped up, passionate, local boy, local derby, etc etc Chelsea: Classless, nasty, cynical, foreign, pathetic, blah blah blah
March 23, 201511 yr From Football365 which I think takes a fairly level approach to most teams. 'Sorry' Stevie Escapes StickTabloid headlines on the morning after Diego Costa's stamps versus Liverpool: Costa's Shame (Daily Star), Dirty Diego (The Sun), Headcase (Daily Mail), Stampford Bridge (Daily Mirror).Tabloid headlines on the morning after Steven Gerrard and Martin Skrtel stamps: I'm Sorry (Daily Star), Gerro: All My Fault (The Sun), I'm Sorry (Daily Mail), I'm So Sorry (Daily Mirror).Martin Samuel in the Daily Mail even writes 'it is possible to have sympathy for Gerrard's misguided desire.' He just 'wanted it too much' apparently. Diddums. While Gerrard escaped criticism, Neil Ashton still managed to refer to Costa as a 'hot-head' whose performance against Hull on Sunday was 'full of sly digs and elbows'. Ashton also, of course, mentions Costa's stamp against Liverpool. Alan Smith went even further in The Times, devoting two thirds of a page to explaining why Costa 'has no need for his ugly streak' but just 65 words to Gerrard's stamp on Herrera. Anyone would think there was some sort of campaign against Chelsea...
