Loic Remy

Featured Replies

I said in the Arsenal match thread that he posted an Instgram video showing him doing exercises in a pool on Sunday, so I think an injury is genuine.

Well before I saw that I suspected he had a falling out too, so I don't blame you for coming to that conclusion, it's not like Mourinho has given any real updates on him.

I think that's where I was most worried, he's not really said why is actually up with him.

Think we will struggle to hold on to Remy if Real, Barca or Bayern come calling in the summer. When that happens we must not be weak. We should only let him go if they give us Messi, Bale or Ribery in exchange.

You've never had anything half decent to say about Remy. Do you not think he's good enough to be our second choice striker? He rarely plays, doesn't moan, and almost always delivers when called upon. What's not to like?

Still undecided about Remy and how he fits into things.

He hasn't really been given that many chances and I felt sorry for him last night having to play wide to accommodate Costa which back-fired. Other than the shot which hit the post, he wasn't great and won't have done his chances of impressing Mourinho much good. I still rate him but don't think he's quite good enough to rely on if Costa is missing for any length of time and we have a youngster like Bamford as third choice.

Decisions, decisions...............

I think he'l be leaving this summer.

Lots of rumbling about Griezmann and I think that's the profile of player we are going to target, someone to play on the wing but can do a job up front too.

I can see Drogba leaving/retiring as well and so I wouldn't rule out us targeting a physically imposing forward to fill that target man role such as a Benteke/Dzeko type player.

Well his performance on the wing last night showed that he definitely isn't Anelka.

Generally while playing up front he's been excellent though, i'm more than happy to keep him on as 2nd choice. Honestly he could easily be a starter at a Champions League contending club though, so i'm not sure he'll want to stay.

I like Remy and thought last night if we were to score he was the most likely scorer since Hazard was off the boil and Costa didn’t look up to much.

He’s good enough to start at decent clubs so I’d imagine he will look to move on next season. I’ve no doubts he’s be scoring 20 plus goals if starting every week.

Agree with all of that FC.

I have said before Remy is not the answer playing as a lone striker. Hasn't got the physical presence or hold up ability. Two strikers up front, yes, he may be able to do the job consistently. But is Jose going to change his preferred formation to try and get the best out of Remy? I don't believe so.

I actually think Benteke could be a good signing for us. Costa, Benteke, Remy and/or Bamford would set us up for next season.

Think the lad will stay hopefully, hes shown that he can do the business when called upon, and finally hes got some medals on the mantelpiece

do need to put the old Drog out to pasture and get two more in as Costa & Remy bit of a sick note between them

those two...........whom might they be then

finally hes got some medals on the mantelpiece

mate, Remy has won some gear previously w/ Lyon & L'OM. Dude is a winner. There is only one thing holding Remy back & that is his heart condition. I hope CFC can retain his services next year, however I can see the club selling him for the right price.

Can't see us letting him and Drogba go, we haven't got funds to replace two strikers...Remy has proved to be a reliable backup, who won't sulk when he's not playing..I think he's had a good season given his lack of playing time...just a shame he got injured every time Diego was out

What makes you think that?

His injury record is definitely a serious concern. Other than that, he is a great backup striker. I hope we can keep him

well obviously we can buy two, but we need to strengthen all over the pitch...another keeper, centre half, midfield and forward...calibre of players we want won't be cheap...so if we have to buy two strikers, it will decrease what we can spend on the other departments...remember we had to raise a lot of money from sales to buy Costa, Fabregas etc, but we don't have so many assets to sell this time

Quite unbelieveable that he's a bench player really. One of the best strikers in the league

And Liverpool dumped him for balotelli, good job lads...

Remy for me is a must keep, I would look to use him a lot more next season, especially against the teams we expect to dominate in a possesion point of view. When teams park the bus the more players you have that look to make runs in behind the line the better

We didn't have to sell to buy, it just made financial and logical sense to do so because the players we sold either wanted to leave or had no role in the squad. Don't recall us being forced to sell anyone.

Agree with the overall point though.

I can't see us investing too much in a back up keeper. Most likely an old pro on a free on low wages.

Who knows what happens now with FFP being relaxed too, transfers wise.
