September 4, 201510 yr On the other hand, MUFC simply has to say "Hey, you can leave for free next summer DeGea, and miss Euro's because you ride our bench all season. Or we can get you to sign a contract with a decent buyout under the promise (clause in contract stating a sale must be accepted if RM come with a certain fee) you can leave next summer just as we did with CR7." If Navas was happy to sign for MUFC this summer, he will next if he faces being second to DeGea
September 4, 201510 yr Well Real don't have to pay £29m or give up Keylor Navas, who is a pretty damn good goalkeeper in his own right They never had to, they wanted to.

If Navas was happy to sign for MUFC this summer, he will next if he faces being second to DeGea United is better of keeping De Gea even if he leaves for a free next summer. The better PL position and the possibly longer CL run is worth more financially than Real's offer which according to most reports was 29m only with hefty addon clauses not a straight cash offer.
September 4, 201510 yr If United can get De Gea to sign a new deal to get more money for him from Real Madrid next season, then they will be the ones who has come out of this in the best position. As it stands though, both United and Real Madrid cocked up.
September 5, 201510 yr Utd have fcuked this up IMO...I know they're loaded, well as a brand anyway, but they have just lost a good £29m in a transfer fee as no way will de gea stay on, plus they will now have to spend a load to find a replacement next year and who will be as good as him?... there has to be a huge question mark against de Gea's motivation playing for a club he doesn't want to play for and who he will blame. Rightly or wrongly, for wrecking his dream move...clearly Madrid left it till last minute and called utds bluff too long, but don't think it will effect them that much having to wait another year...as for Utd, de gea can only do so much...they're an average side, fighting for top four at best and have no chance of title or cl, with or without de gea. There has been a lot of spin coming out of Utd on their version of events, a bit like after they lost out on Pedro and made out it was their choice and they had a bigger name in mind, only to end up overspending on a teenager who has done fcuk all and is Obviously a major gamble
September 5, 201510 yr United came out looking like mugs. They are absolute red necks when it comes to transfer deals these days, it's bloody hilarious.
September 6, 201510 yr The best part of £300m spent by LVG and to me both their starting XI and squad look pretty average.

September 8, 201510 yr Wasn't sure where to post this, but Fenerbache hooligans sent threatening pictures of themselves, holding up knives to intimidate Celtic fans. I thought the response from Celtic fans and even some Fenerbache fans was brilliant, they took pictures of themselves holding up various items like a toothbrush and a Hoover. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/hilarious-pictures-show-celtic-fenerbahce-6354087
September 8, 201510 yr Haha, fair play to the Fenerbahce fans for joining in. This one's my favourite:-
September 9, 201510 yr Author Hull City midfielder Jake Livermore will not be banned after testing positive for cocaine. The 25-year-old was suspended by the Football Association and his club in May after failing a drug test, pending the outcome of a disciplinary hearing. Livermore, who faced a possible two-year ban, tested positive following the death of his newborn child. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34199998 Don't get me wrong, that's tragic that he lost his child but he did break the law and take a class A substance. For him to get away without any sort of a ban is an absolutely massive let off by the FA.

September 9, 201510 yr Gotta feel for him in the circumstances I'm in agreement here. I know it's not acceptable and it sets a dangerous precedent by letting him off, but I'm glad they did. He's made a really stupid mistake under awful circumstances. Hope he can get his life and career back on track. I've never lost a child thigh I can only imagine the pain people go through; everyone going through different stages of grief too.

I think mental health is being seen as a serious issue in recent years, far more than before, so i can understand why the FA let him off.
September 9, 201510 yr Author I think mental health is being seen as a serious issue in recent years, far more than before, so i can understand why the FA let him off. I get all of that but I still think it should have been something to emphasizes the seriousness of taking a class A substance as a professional athlete. Even just a short term ban whilst receiving grief counseling, something like that.
