April 21, 201610 yr Theres barely anyone there, you can hear the players calls ha ha. You can take Arsenal out of the Library but you cannot take the library out of Arsenal. Or something like that.
April 21, 201610 yr As it's Thursday night, an accurate assessment of how many fans Arsenal actually have, perhaps.
April 21, 201610 yr Do you all think that we could sell out a 60k stadium at the moment with the form we are in? I'd like to think that we could and it would take seasons of mediocrity for that to change, but honestly I'm not sure.
April 21, 201610 yr Arsenal are really quite lovely to watch when they play well. Arsenal fans and critics think Wenger doesn't spend enough. I don't see why he should spend more on players when he has a squad that can play like they showed tonight. The problem with them is psychological. They can only play like this when there's nothing big at stake. As someone who tends to get flustered in big situations, I can relate to that. When you have a group of players who don't excel under pressure, you need a great leader in the dressing room. They don't have one. What's even worse is that their manager seems as well like the type that gets flustered under pressure.
April 21, 201610 yr warning: joke in very poor taste http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36106041 What does everyone reckon? Would he do a better job than Jon Moss?
April 22, 201610 yr Can't see sanchez being at arsenal too long. Another two goals from him to qin em the game.
April 22, 201610 yr Just read that Spurs' stadium could cost around 750 million pounds, our redevelopment is estimated at 500 million... quite remarkable when you consider Schalke's Veltins Arena, retractable roof and sliding pitch included, came in at 191 million Euros. Although I guess inflation would bump that figure up a bit. Still... Deutsch Effizienz.
April 22, 201610 yr Woke up with the horrible feeling that Spurs are going to win the title. Can't shake it. We really need to throw that game against Leicester, if it comes down to the wire
April 22, 201610 yr Woke up with the horrible feeling that Spurs are going to win the title. Can't shake it. We really need to throw that game against Leicester, if it comes down to the wire Sad to say I don't think we should, it's unethical. A pre-match lasagne ought to be on the menu though. Seriously though, we'd scream and shout if it happened to us, the best team wins and it's up to Ranieri to get them there. I don't think he will, his history is a 'close but no cigar' man and it will grate but Spurs will have been worth it. Anyway it's not like we haven't won it recently and they haven't won the CL yet. Arsenal, now there's another story.

Although I guess inflation would bump that figure up a bit. Still... Deutsch Effizienz. I know it is 17 years ago, and it's in Cardiff not London, but the Milliennium Stadium (72,500 capacity, retractable roof, dodgy playing surface) only cost £120m. Wembley cost over 6 times that about six years later (with 18000 more seats, but no retractable roof). I think there were penalties to the Millstad builders though. They agreed to build it for a fixed price and they had to foot the bill for any extra costs, which ran into tens of millions. Great stadium, though.

If this were anything other than football, a stadium would cost less than half that. Someone is getting rich, and it isn't the construction workers.
April 22, 201610 yr No doubt the price of steel will go up the minute construction begins. Still, there ought to be a scrap value to the amount of the stuff the stadium already has in it, hopefully they take that into account.
April 22, 201610 yr Spud? JT's comin' to getcha! ;) It's not a good thought! A lot of Shedenders think the result is a Spurs win but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion Droogers. And we need Leicester to drop points. C'mon Swansea!
April 22, 201610 yr Good time to buy shares in Tata? And Network Rail, the amount of old track there is rusting alongside every rail journey I go on.
April 22, 201610 yr Woke up with the horrible feeling that Spurs are going to win the title. Can't shake it. We really need to throw that game against Leicester, if it comes down to the wire don't worry we'll have the sun loungers out by then - I'm beginning to doubt we'll win another game this season. God only knows what we'll suffer at Anfield
April 22, 201610 yr Aston villa are an absolute shambles, I actually feel sorry for there fans. "Aston Villa defender Jores Okore is refusing to play for the club, according to caretaker boss Eric Black. The 23-year-old Denmark international refused to be on the bench for the visit of Bournemouth on 9 April and is now training with the club's under-21s. "After that game, he said that he didn't want to be considered for any of the games going forwards," said Black. "I didn't have a choice apart from remove him. I don't want people who don't want to be at Aston Villa." Villa's relegation from the Premier League was confirmed with last weekend's defeat at Manchester United. On Friday, owner Randy Lerner released a statement accepting blame for the end of the club's 28-year stay in the top flight. That came at the end of a week in which directors David Bernstein and Mervyn King left the club and striker Gabriel Agbonlahor was suspended for being pictured with what is alleged to be laughing gas."
