I think we can firmly say this club does not believe in youth its a business to generate money to go into the market and buy ready made stars

This is the the worst part about supporting Chelsea. I love my club but their approach to youth is appalling. [emoji853]

Totally scratching my head over this one.....could have used him when Costa gets suspended or injured.  Don't see the point of keeping Remy....did he actually get any game time pre-season?  Like others I can only assume it's for his own development......or is there a big signing around the corner?

Is it already confirmed that he is going on loan? As all of you have already said, I am amazed at this decision. He was one of the few joys of watching Chelsea last season, he played well and scored some goals when he came into the pitch, and looked like he could be a good partner to Costa. He has played some preseason games and scored against Milan. I think he was growing as a player in the first team, so I really don't understand how we can ship him and keep Remy!  :face_palm:

I have a feeling a big striker and CB signing is coming

Makes you think we are up to something. We cant be that stupid to leave it, surely!

probably. the board aren't that stupid to let Remy be our third choice striker

... are they?

Costa is first choice, we've dropped £32m on Batshuayi, looks like we're pushing for another signing up front and/or Remy is staying.

Just unfortunate for Traore that's he's viewed as 3rd/4th choice. He's too talented to be that far on the fringes of first team football so for the sake of his own career it makes sense for him to leave.

that's the thing. i have no issues with costa as 1st choice, it's obvious he will be the main man, but michy was bought for £32 million without any proof he'll be a success here. traore on the other hand has, for the most part, always done well when called upon as a striker (which i don't think is his best position anyway) and has done well on loan. if remy isn't sold, then we've just let go of a talented youngster in favour of a injury riddled, aging, inconsistent striker in remy.

I'm not usually one to jump on the give youth a chance at all costs kind of thing, BUT....

I'm really f**king angry at this, when he got a chance last year he usually scored & personally for me has looked more lively in pre season than Costa has, but as usual as is the Chelsea way we ship him out on loan.

On the plus side, we'll probably sell him in a couple of years after successive loans & he'll be back in 5 years when we spend £70m on him.

f**king hell Chelsea, genuinely thought he had a chance but as others have said, I don't think we'll see him play for us again.

Remy is always bloody injured anyway, good striker IMO but he's never even fit when we need him!

Zola - I see you are now a mod - so i pick my words carfually... are you bat sh*t crazy mofo!! :)

Didn't we start Jose's fist season with Eto and Torres? i'm sure we can find many examples of our bored having complete brain farts.... the whole left back situation needs to be captured in record so that people can learn some lessons

I'm sorry to see him go as I have long wanted him to become the first massive Burkinabè superstar at Chelsea, but it does make sense for his development.

Costa, Batshuayi and Rémy is a good striking triumvirate, and his chances will be extremely limited in the first team as fourth or (at best) third-choice centre-forward. He's going to a very strong side, who are playing in Europe, and who have a world class record of developing young talent. Obviously it would have been ideal for him to remain in England, but Ajax is about as good an alternative as we are likely to get.

the only positive to this is he will go to ajax who are known for developing youngsters to a high level, but the dutch league isn't much of a test though. if he had to be loaned out anywhere, it should have been to spain.

What a waste that is.

One of the most gifted young players I've seen play for us in recent years and we look to just shift him out yet again.

No doubt when he get's game time and fulfils his huge potential City or United will pay big bucks for him.

Funnily enough the loan move at least gives him European football, possibly CL football.

Maybe a bit optimsitic but maybe Conte is thinning his squad given we don;t play in Europe?

Looked lively and often scored when given a chance.

But didn't cost 30m+ so just another one thrown on the loan pile to try and make a few million in a years time. Getting sick of the club's loan policy, I wouldn't mind at all if the FA put in a limit on loan players, to stop us doing this.

He's gone lets get over it. At 20 years old he's getting a chance to play in Europe which he won't here. He is a good player with loads of potential and I think he can come back from this. I think he needs to bulk up a bit and goes to ground too easily. If he's learning this at another club, so be it.

I dont think its the end of him at chelsea. I think that conte maybe felt he was a bit raw and felt that a bit more experience could help his growth. I think conte will bring in a big striker and sell remy. Then bring back traore next season
