Good result, glad we finally got a clean sheet. 

 

Whilst Costa's antics ended up helping us, all it does it cover up the fact that most games he is very ineffective.

At least Sanchez didn't try to punch his way out of Ivan's pocket this time...

Stepping aside from the controversies, I have to say we looked much better than we've been since the start of the season. I felt we were on top of them throughout the game and probably would have gone on to win without the red cards. We looked much better in defense, midfield and attack, with improved performances from Brana, Fabregas, Hazard and Costa (first half). I feel Oscar is very important to this team and he brings so much cohesion and fluidity to our play - IMO our most important player right now. BT showed our next several fixtures - we could easily go on a bit of a run if we keep playing like that.

The media can moan about Costa but Arsenal again showed how naive they are. They just haven't learned.

Costa wants to wide people up and the more they react, the more he likes it. He's a wide up merchant. The way to deal with him is like Kompany. Straight faced and no reaction.

Great result. Well done Jose and the boys.

He needs reminded that no team in Premier League history has had more players sent off than Arsenal and he's been in charge of that since 1996.

Agreed so much about Oscar we seem to just be a less fluid without him, he works hard and helps set up a lot of plays. He seems to help out Cesc and others a lot when he's in there. Hope we can continue it next week up north and get some revenge for last year up there.

i think what matic said a while back may well be true, They were struggling for fitness and were behind, hopefully they are up to speed for the foreseeable!

Not that it's ever going to happen, but Arsenal should actually be grateful to Mike Dean for deflecting from the fact that even before the first sending off, we were well on top, we were by far the better team, and when Hazard was dragged to the ground, we were denied as blatant a penalty shout as you're ever going to see, the second on Costa was nowhere as clear cut, but we've all seen them given.

 

So poor old Arsenal, Wenger along with Gooners everywhere can huff and puff and fume away at Mike Dean for all they're worth. The simple fact is that didn't deserve a damned thing out of today's game.

Zouma is great - he already has that look of a player who is going to become a club legend. A new generation - v exciting. Feeling so much better after this week's games, a week's a long time in football....
