We do have a decent back up for Tammy Coco, his name is Oliver Giroud, a World Cup winner who is desperate to impress his national team boss to maintain his place in the squad for the Euros. Play to his strengths, long ball, crosses, ball in to feet, stick him on the center backs, and he will help bring our attack in to the game.

Ask him to play like Tammy and chase everything down and run on to the ball then he will be worse than useless like against Wet Spam. Frank needs to use the players he has to get the best out of them. Different strikers, different quality, different supply. Tammy to chase and harass, ball in behind, Giroud targeted in the air, crosses, in to feet passes and Batman left firmly in the stand sending out funny tweets.

I've actually had some hopes of seeing what a Giroud/Tammy partnership could look like if chasing a goal....

Logic says that hitting Giroud with a long ball and him feeding Tammy should work... whether they have tried it on the training ground and it just doesnt click is a different matter.

A world cup winner 2 years ago. In that season leading up to the World Cup 3 league goals in 13 games. Following year he scored 2 league goals in 27 games.

Being good at International level doesn't mean you're good enough at club level, Giroud is finished in the Prem at a top club. At least Lamps can see that.

Although that sounds great it can be double-edged,  does it mean Tammy is doubting himself?

I’d say he just knows he’s injured. It’s been clear for weeks now. Same with Mason.

I get the feeling Giroud could give Tammy hints yet is annoyed that he is third choice.

I personally think Tammy is aware he could be doing things better yet wants help or guidance..... what's Drogba doing these days?

Fair enough you believe that, others will agree with you, and Lamps it seems, some of us don't.

Assuming you are right though then how about we see Anjorin or Broja given a chance instead of Ross Barkley being used as our sub striker? Does anyone believe that Ross Barkley is the best option we have to backing up Tammy?

Barkley isn't the best option up top but by no means should we be bringing on Anjorin out of position or an 18 year old Broja when a game is in the balance.

Batman is equally as useless as Barkley though, I doubt he would have done any better.

Batshuayi is not the guy to run a defence ragged. His movement is the poorest. Giroud should've been the choice.

For the most part though, if the answer is Michy, it was a f**king silly question in the first place.

I don't know why he isn't able to look like a footballer for us, he seems to have done quite well elsewhere, but in the blue he makes me look like Cruyff in his prime.

Its got f**k all to do with movement, just just need someone to close down the CB's when they have the ball at the back and hope they slip up and lump the ball back to us. Giroud not being able to move cancels him out of this discussion.

I think for the last 20mins Giroud can chase down the nearest CB just don't think he can do it for 60 mins.

Its not his stamina that's the problem, its his actual pace. That doesn't improve.

Interesting as in several matches later on only Mount seems quick to close down, it seems to slacken off for me.

He must work on his timing in his movement forward. We're losing some good chances because Tammy simply comes late to that ball. 

He could've much more goals if his reaction to the crosses was faster and better.

Sorry but we need a better striker

Caught on his heels twice tonight. 

Really needs to improve his anticipation, and his chance conversation. 

I know he has more goals than drogba in his first season, but drogba wasnt missing guilt edge chances every week, and he was also occupying 2 centre backs and creating space for lamps, gudjohnson, duff, etc.

Sick of seeing him lose balance or not being in the right position.

He need to rediscover his early form to keep his starting spot next season, I can’t see us signing a striker to be back up. It’ll definitely be a striker on same level as Abraham, if not better.

Needs to be someone better. He needs some competition and someone who can take him under his wing. I like Giroud and what he brings to the team but Tammy needs to improve on things that Giroud isn’t great at either.
