Notice City had two men on him second half, one in front of the ball and one behind him, stopped us building from his hold up play, I was hoping Kova would do one of his incredible dribbles up the middle to break the two defenders though not today unfortunately.

Totally agree we didn’t use his aerial advantage properly today, the same could be said for the space in behind city in that first half. Our goal came from a ball over the top and then we just seemed to stop looking for it. Fabregas would have had a field day against that city back line.

Or let out a nice and loud ‘oh for f**ks sake’ like I did. I feel bad for Giroud being behind Michy, he’s better than that and I wouldn’t hold it against him if he goes in January. 

It looks like a bad injury, and it's an injury that could hurt us in the long run. If Batshuayi is going to fill in for him and play like he did tonight, then we are in for a rough time up front.

False 9 might be a solution, can't be any worse then playing Batshuayi.

If there's any pair of fixtures we can get away with Michy playing it's the next two so hopefully he's back in time for Goodison.

Played with ten men when he came off. Batman was useless though almost won the game with the only thing he sort of did right.

Deserved a goal in the first half, incredible save from their keeper to get a finger tip up in the top corner.

Giroud a better option surely 

He deserved to score, he had a good first half.

I'll assume rtwelch was talking about in comparison to Michy, otherwise that's a crazy statement. 

Tammy has been solid with his back to goal this season, can play the target man and run onto ball, his link up play is decent also, better than Diego Costa's for sure.

Even still, rather take Michy over Giroud. May as well just stick a big rock up top if we're starting Giroud.

Even in games like yesterday? Michy was absolutely useless, Giroud would've actually offered something.

Even in a game like yesterday Michy is more likely to get on the end of a ball in the box or something. There's a reason he's playing over Giroud for Lamps.

But on the flip side there was a couple of instances yesterday Michy lost the ball after recieving it from Pulisic where had that been Oli he would have got a 1-2 and most likely a chance to score.

Anyway if we are serious about progressing as a team Giroud will be gone and Michy will be 3rd choice at most by the next time we get a transfer window.

Batman is second choice after Tammy, for a good reason. Giroud didn't play any big game for us in a long time.

Nopes game like this is precisely where Giroud is needed.. I think some of his non-selection by lamps has been unfair.. any game where we need 30 mins plus from a striker I will have Giroud over bats every day of the week..

When we need a goal, have a lot of the ball and the opposition has no intention of trying to score - Michy.

When we’re defending a result, the opposition are looking dangerous and we need to keep possession/decent build-up play - Giroud. 
 

Yesterday at 1-1 at half time we needed Giroud.

Wouldn't mind Werner, has a few years under his belt. 

Haaland i'd stay away from, just screams expensive waste in my eyes. I.e Belotti, Piatek, Jovic etc.
