Agree that Berahino wouldn't be a particularly good fit. As much fun as it would be to tread on Tottenham's toes (again) I don't really see Berahino as an effective lone striker.

To be honest I think we need the option of a centre forward who is good at holding the ball up and who specialises in aerial ability. In theory that should have been Falcao for this season, but seemingly he has little to offer. While bearing in mind that he's 30, I think the best [realistic] fit for that would be Graziano Pellè; certainly not a long-term option but he's experienced in the league, been in excellent goalscoring form, excels in the air, and in my opinion would be a perfect fit.

In the system we play at present it's hard to see him doing a job.

Then again Costa, Falcao and Remy (although not given much chance) are seen as not being up to the task either.

I like the idea of a younger, hungier striker although Berahino does seem a bit hit & miss, so not sure he is the answer although I would have him right now ahead of a very off-form Costa and Falcao, but would equally rather see us give Bamford a shot who is the same age at 22 and also and England U 21 player.

I maybe living in a bit of a fantasy world but I would love us to produce a Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, Wayne Rooney. They all broke into first teams of big clubs at 17/18 and just had that knack of finding the net. Perhaps in Abraham and Solanke we have the next Fowler or Owen. At 3-0 up last night with 15 minutes to go would have been nice to see a player like Abraham get some minutes, although I appreciate he played in the youth CL game, where he bagged yet another brace.

no idea why we would even bother considering we have bamford out on loan, traore, solanke etc. we shouldn't even think about buying a young striker unless we start giving chances to our own young striking options. berahinho would be a waste of money as he would only be a likely 3rd choice anyway; he certainly isn't good enough to be our 1st choice striker...

I saw berahino away at Liverpool last season, he played up top on his own and was a real handful.

I think he would be a quality signing.

Ferguson had a fantastic record of signing good strikers, the vast majority were players from other premier league teams. I'd like to see us go for a player that already knows the league, and has the hunger to go out and prove himself at a big club.

Bamford is a good player, but I don't think he is anywhere near berahino's level and they are the same age.

I also think berahino has the sort of arrogance that will make him a success at a big club.

If we sign him though, we need to start him regularly.

@Chelsea_HQ: Neither (Berihno or Vardy) player particularly fits the profile that Mourinho normally likes and he may prefer to try to recruit somebody better. [Telegraph]

We shouldn't sign them if Jose doesn't like them. We've been there before.

No thanks, don't think he suits the lone striker role and I don't think he suits a top club, he also has a rotten club mentality.

If we were to go 4-4-2 and play him along side Costa that could work but its unlikely thus I wouldn't want him.

Why?! I understand he's English, but apart from that i don't know why we're after him. We already have a few young English strikers at the club we should be developing. We have Costa as our No.1, so where's Berahino going to fit in? Our strike force is so up in the air at the moment it's crazy.

Might be Remy and Falcao out and Pato and Berahino in this month?

Wouldn't be the worst business we've ever done.

Far rather him than Pato.

Pato is a much more talented player and has great speed and explosiveness. If Pato is healthy he would be a great value buy at 10 mil.

Pato is a better footballer, its not even close.   Berahino, if he wasnt English, would be worth about 10m tops.  His attitude puts me off

I quite like Berahino, if we are after another striker we could do alot worse. I would rather spend £25M on this guy than over £50M for Morata or Lukaku.

you would rather spend £25m on Berahino then £50m on Morata or Lukaku??? I hope you are trolling right now,

Berahino played well for one season, thought he was the bees knees. Didn't get a move to a bigger club and has been pretty poor since. He's just all kinds of wrong, even though I think Lukaku and Moratta are overpriced they're miles better than Berahino.
