Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager

Featured Replies

Fell out with the board I believe, a disagreement over signings.
Conte wanted to big reinforcements to make the next step in Europe, the board said you don't need to spend big (Sound familiar?)

Yeah I would be pissed too if I make you a dominant force for 3 years from a 8th placed finish and you still will not back me in the market. Hope Roman knows better.

Conte has just worked his magic and even the word over-achievement seems a understatement, I was seriously concerned after last season and wondered if we will spend a long period out of Europe never mind actually challenging for a title. I could not in the wildest of dreams predicted us to be in the position we are in today and I am truly grateful the board went for Conte over someone like Guardiola (Although it does appear Guardiola was never really going to come to CFC).

The only little thing which I believe could be altered is Fabregas starting ahead of Matic against teams outside the top 6.

Replacing him with AVB just made it worse. Although it did lead to RDM and the UCL glory, but as much I like Di Matteo, I think Carlo could've done what he did. We finished second in 2010/2011 and I think that unless he'd lost the dressing room, he would've deserved one more season.

Yeah Roman was desperate for the champions league at that time and our champions league record under Carlo was pretty poor and I believe that's what caused his sacking. Losing to Mourinho's inter didn't help him either.

I'm sure it'll be a two way street. Roman will not bend over for anyone regardless of his record and will do everything he can to support him. Quality of managers out there is pretty slim right now so let's hope he stays for a while.

It did but you could see the idea around it, we stagnated in the second season and it was widely agreed fresh impetus was needed in one form or another. Also Carlo may have a good CL record overall but with us he was horrific in the competition, we were gutless against Inter and especially United.

Im respect him as a man but compared to Jose, Hiddink the first time and now Conte, he isn't that great a manager especially in the tactical point of view and i certainly wouldn't want him back ever.

I am also a big Inter fan.... Chelsea first of course.

They have the been taken over by Suning Commerce Group in the summer, shed loads of money apparently.

Forget the rivalry thing, Italian like the UK have rivalries all over the place and like us little real loyalty so he could go on that basis.  However I think unlikely unless an outrageous deal as I think he would want to manage Chelsea in the Champions League next Season.

I doubt he'd manage Inter though, he seems a very loyal man and by all accounts Inter fans hate Juve and vice versa...in Italy anyway not a casual fan away from that country.

Conte is Juve through and through.

It's just drivel from the press, he has a project here that he is obviously passionate about.

Inter will just have to find someone else, although seeing them last night and this season I think they will need luck too as money might not fix them straight away.

I am not buying that Inter want to part ways with Stefano Pioli. He has transformed a team that was 12th in the table, who are now in 4th. The Inter players are galvanized to performed for Pioli. I watched the match vs Juve & Inter played well. IMHO the refs prevented Inter from obtaining a result. Also I truly believe that Don Antonio is enjoying his time w/ CFC. Look how he celebrates w/ the fans & I believe he loves the fact that the fans chant his name. Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner - Don Antonio & CFC are a match made in Heaven!!

Let`s not forget referee f*** us vs Inter. They didn`t give us 4 clearly penalty.

The foul against Kalou in the end of the first half, was a clearly penalty and a red card. And let`s not forget that Inter player already have 1 yellow card, and that is a red card fault.

There is even 1 more situation against Drogba, that was clearly a penalty and its not in the clip, but i remember it well.

And the next year against United they didn`t give us a clearly penalty in the end of the match. I think it was against Ramirez. It was 10000000% penalty.

So Ancelotti did fu**** well with us, the problem was he did not get the money to fresh our squad in the second season and referee fu*** us in the CL.

I hope Conte stay to us atleast for 5 years.

Be interested to see who Conte selects as his No. 2 when Steve Holland moves to his England job in the summer? Be great to see one of the old boys cut his teeth as his assistant. Zola would be great working with the attackers and no issue with communication with Conte plus he would instantly have the respect of the players...maybe Sir Didier might come back in a coaching role with Sir Frank?

I'm still hoping Holland changes his mind, unlikely I know, But I know what job I would rather do. I think he must just be looking to slowly wind down his career, as taking the England job presumably is a lot less stress and hours away from home. He will be sorely missed though, and I think bringing in the right person can make a huge difference.

Would love Lamps, JT or Drogba to be his number 2 but I don't think it will happen. The 3 of them will likely start at a lower level rather than straight in at assistant manager.

Also, didn't Drogba say that he wasn't interested in coaching but more the "technical director" type role?

He did lose the dressing room though, there was a lot of gumbling over the way Carlo just took the sacking of Ray on the chin and then Sunderland at home happend and then the bad moment

JT has been posting himself studying on Insta lately. He'll surely be a part of the staff next season

Surely the club have discussed plans for JT. I would have thought he would have wanted to retire on a high - what better way than lifting the title.

JT was on talksport the other day and said he feels like he's got 2 years left in him, but I can't see us giving him another playing contract after this season.

I see China in JT's future...he says that he has 2 years of football left in his legs...hopefully by then Sir Frank will have all his badges...would be great to have our old lads being involved in the club on the coaching and development side...

My thoughts, too.

I think he will go to MLS.

Don't think he's ready to retire yet...maybe if Chelsea don't offer him another year then perhaps he'll change his mind...of course offering him a coaching role next season may be appealing to him...
