I know it's to our benefit and it's great to see utd spend a fortune to stay mediocre, but still find it a bit sad to witness our greatest manager in such decline...he's a shadow of the man and manager he used to be

He's let his ego get the better of him. He's so focused on being 'the special one' that it has affected his judgement and abilities as a coach. I said when he was sacked from us that he should have taken a break from the game, now he looks like he desperately needs it more than ever. He's so bitter and miserable. Listening to him talk used to be good fun, now he just responds with 1 or 2 word answers. He sounds like a broken man who doesn't enjoy the game anymore.

I wouldn’t be so sure he’d be that bothered if it was Chelsea’s decline and it was to his benefit, in fact it would probably show him off in a greater light. So the decline of Jose, especially at Man U, does not bother me at all.

Yep, me neither.

It's strange, beacuse when he came back to us and now at Utd, both times the talk was that he wanted to stay longer - actually build something. But it does seem he doesn't have it in him. He doesn't have the time to wait for players to come good down the line - it's always buy the finished article or sign older players like Ibra which will always hinder the likes of the promising players for tomorrow, like Rashford. That worked for him once upon a time but his philosophy is getting left behind and I just can't see him lasting at United.

He's shown us no respect since he's had the United job, in normal circumstances i would agree but in Jose's case, nah.

I agree with every word except for the three I've put in bold.

I would swap them for absolutely hilarious.

Exactly. Jose took our adoration of him for granted. The Chelsea fans were very good to him, standing by him when results went awry and there was feverish speculation about his job. Twice we did this, towards the end of both his stints here. He returned the favour by slagging us off, on more than one occasion. He went to Utd and felt he could say whatever he wanted about our club and our new manager without ever losing stock amongst our fanbase, and then, when he returned last season as manager of Utd, he found out different. He found out he had burned his bridges, and we'll defend our club against anyone taking potshots. I truly believe it rattled him and it shocked him because he never believed it were possible, and now he knows he's not The Special One at Chelsea anymore. He's increasingly becoming The Pathetic One at Utd and boy is it a joy to see. Even if he were to prove a success at Utd, it comes at too high a price, and boy am I glad he's left our club. The fact that he's at Utd while their two main rivals, City and Liverpool, are becoming light years better than them is proving way too much to bear for him, and it's hilarious to watch, as he tries in vain to blame everybody but himself and belittle the achievements of those rival teams by citing money of all things. This from the man who has spent more on transfer fees than any other manager in the history of football. Keep up the good work Jose. You're providing me with a lot of laughs.

Must have got to him when we were winning 4-0 and the crowd was chanting for Conte.

I don't think it is a remote coincidence that him sticking 3 fingers up to the West Stand and claiming someone called him Judas came when the Conte chants were buzzing around the ground, in other words i would be willing to bet he made it up.

And say he was telling the truth, then he ripped apart a whole fanbase that stood by him (some even turning against players who did f**k all wrong) in the hardest times on the basis off one person, literally one person.

Far from adulation, just a bit of respect and gratitude for what the club's greatest manager did for us...don't understand those that show the complete opposite. So he made mistakes at chelsea, so his last season was the worst in Abramovich era, so he's now at a rival club and comes out with a lot of crap (we should know better than anyone it's bs and not worth getting wound up by), I still appreciate the good times.

I was there that day and there were about 50 fans, all in their early 20s (and younger) abusing Mourinho throughout...most of us were taking the piss, singing 'you're getting sacked in the morning', which was all obviously very tongue in cheek, especially as all four stands chanted his name at one point.

but this lot were on Mourinho's case constantly and I didn't like it either to be honest. This group might think winning the title is the norm at chelsea, but those unfortunate enough to be old gits like myself never dreamed of winning it once, let alone five times since 2005.

Thought his response to holding up three fingers etc was both funny and spot on...reminding them that he did win three league titles for us...and he obviously virtually repeated the statement, albeit verbally this time, in the press conference by saying 'until someone wins 4, judas is no1'. When I read that I laughed...typical Mourinho...didn't offend me one bit and why should it anyway after we'd won 4-0 en route to winning the title...

Oh I agree - we can still appreciate the good times and I can look back at them very fondly and remember how good things were and what a great job Mourinho did for us.

But that was then, and there is no way I could now bring myself to chant his name any more and I'm surprised that anyone still would.

It was the cup tie the alleged judas chant happened, i was not that far away from Jose myself and i didn't hear anything on that scale. What has to be accounted for is the reception most former employee's get, ex players have have got standing ovation's on returns to The Bridge, even one's that return with Arsenal and Spurs, Hiddink and Carlo im confident would get the same treatment if they return as an away manager, infact could you even imagine the fuss we would have made of Di Matteo had our home game vs Schalke come after his appointment? It would have been incredible. So the fact that Jose (previously one of the, if not the, most adored figures of our history) gets lukewarm reception's at best shows just how little respect he has shown us since, if he moved on with class, he would have got an incredible reception returning here just like what the likes of Cech, Mata get.

I used to really admire JM. But he really is one boring old fella now. Moan Moan Moan.

The thing is he's been around properly since the early 2000s and hasnt really evolved. Players, managers and fans all know his game now. His stock is falling daily. Part of me hopes Utd keep him on a little longer, provided he doesn't mount any sort of title challenge.

If he doesn't deliver - where next for him? PSG will hardly want him? Not sure he would get the top top jobs that he is used to anymore...

He actually seems miserable since being at Manchester, thought it was supposed to be the dream job? Even when he won the league cup with them last season he looked bloody depressed.

He does look miserable, I think his family are staying in London for their education and think this is a factor with his moods.

I also think some of the players he plays may not be his choice and suspect he has to sign confidentiality agreements and this probably affects his moods too.

There is no doubt when he needs a win he normally delivers though is struggling to do this consistently.

There is a line of thought that managers (not just footy) mood spreads downwards though an organisation.

As someone else mentioned in the thread above football evolves over time and Mourinho has failed to evolve with it. Gone are the days of Fergie when a manager could be at the top of his game for 20+years. Mourinho may want to go to PSG but i doubt PSG will want him. Why would they want Neymar playing LWB and Mbappe RWB.

He certainly is lying about Conte match Fixing.

Conte was cleared in relation to that.

This is what Jose does, why is anyone shocked or offended? He done it all the time as manager here calling Wenger a Voyeur and all sorts. When he feels threatened he lashes out to appease his supporters who love him having the last dig or word. It's his way

its amusing when it's for you but petty and low when against.

Contes best retort is beating them to second and winning a cup. That would leave Jose with egg on his face.

Jose is and always has been a very bad loser and someone who can't handle someone stealing his limelight. It's usually the end of him when these things start happening.

oh and remember Uniteds plastic fans having the morale high ground on the conduct of their manager? HA manc fools
