Jose Mourinho thread

Featured Replies

Jose left the team in a much much worse position than when he arrived.

Actually he left a team of Champions.  They sure didn't play like it this season, but that's what Mourinho left.  And it is certainly an improvement upon the team he inherited who never came close to the title since Ancelotti's reign.

Imo it was Romans millions who changed this club forever and Ranieri was the one that made that happen through that crucial 4th place and laying the foundations.

With the money at our disposal it was only a matter of time before we won the league with or without Jose, but I am very grateful that it was achieved under his tenure.

I just find his meltdown this season unforgiving. He is certainly not one of us as he claimed to be. He is one of them.

I didn't want to believe that his heart was always on Utd but it's now clear that it always has been. Not even playing in the Europa league put him off.

Spending a ton of money eventually guarantees the title?  I bet a sh*t load of LFC fans would tell you otherwise.  I'd say MUFC have certainly spent enough money since their title, and with numerous managers, to put that theory to the sword too.

Even if it eventually does, and it does not, just look how long and how much money it took MCFC.

Of course Romans millions had a massive impact, wouldn't be where we are without him. Yet the impact would not of been as sudden nor in such record breaking fashion had anyone other than Mourinho been at the helm.  Nor would it ever of been guaranteed to have been as big an impact as it has been.  And who is to say that Roman would of kept spending so much on this club had he not been given an immediate taste for the top prizes?

and how is it clear his heart was always on MUFC?  Because after his bad end here he took the most coveted job available, and the best paying one too?  I maintain that if what you spout is true, Mourinho never would of had a second reign at CFC.  He would of joined MUFC straight from RM..... or are you one of the deluded few who still think SAF picked Moyes over Mourinho?  LOL

It's gotten to that point that I would rather see City or Arsenal lift the title over United next season. I hope he fails completely. That will be satisfyt

You really have such a weird dislike of Jose that you'd want ARSENAL to win the title? He hasn't even said anything yet, or even been appointed and its 'gotten to that point'. Is this healthy?

How are you going to survive when he does arrive? I can see a very unhappy couple months or even years for you. But rest assured when he eventually leaves you'll probably just say you were right all along again anyway

And if he doesn't take a job at a big club we get told how no big team will touch him anymore and he is finished as a top level manager. Can't have that so next big thing is to moan about WHERE he goes.

Or just maybe the team left Jose in a worse position than when he arrived ?

How is it the coach gets praised when a team wins trophies, but when they perform poorly it's the players? It happens, not just with us the season gone, but with all teams.

Ignore him he's always had it out for Jose for some reason.

Isn't it the team getting praised when we win as well ?

My point was that the manager is part of the team, all in it together.

But it was only Jose who took the flak at the end. The players all kept their jobs.

Its the same with every club, when things go wrong the Manager gets the sack, it's not unique to us, or Jose. I have never yet seen a case of a club in decline, sacking all the players and keeping the Manager.

Also some of our players (quite rightly) got a lot of stick from the press and fans, over their lack of performance last season.

I am really not looking forward to seeing the Mourinho unveiling as the media w*nkfest is going to be on another level. ManU have now got a top man at the helm and they will be a threat to everyone. I'm quite sure City, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal are none to happy about this appointment though, so every cloud and all that.

Spending a ton of money in 2005 when there were not many investors around pretty much guaranteed a title. Even City were able to win it (just) with Mancini. As years have gone by its become harder due to smaller clubs generating more money. Not rocket science really.

Yeah there is a few like that.

The RIP Mourinho with the avatar strikes me as strange, don't get how you can passionately hate someone like Jose.

Someone like Jose? You mean an arrogant sociopath that believes he is bigger than every club he goes to? Quite easy really.

You mean an arrogant sociopath that believes he is bigger than every club

For me that describes two managers in Premiership history, Jose Mourinho and Alex Ferguson.

Hart's shampoo above the rest.

I suppose people who only look at press conferences and whatever the media write come to such conclusions.

Mourinho is a man who does plenty to help others, gives up his time more than most to make a difference and is a passionate family man.

In terms of management the best managers in the history of the game have had to be of a certain mould and guys like Ferguson and Jose echo this. Both will go down as 2 of the best managers to walk this earth. Rival fans dislike them while their clubs fans respect them.

You're right, i suppose both Mourinho and Fergie left their teams in an abysmal state once they left. At least Utd managed to get 27 years out of Fergie and countless years of domination.

It's weird because you hate our clubs most succesful manager who took as to that other level that we needed to get to.

Ferguson won the title with the same squad he left so don't talk mince.

I'm just going to ignore you now because your hatred of Jose seems to be the main reason you post on here.

Knock yourself out.

It is true Coco, they should all be blamed - all for one & one for all etc.

But what even now I fail to understand is just how Jose let it all go so badly wrong? We're not talking about a run of the mill average manager. This was Jose Mourinho - meant to be the best of the best. If things slipped like they did under the management of say, Moyes, McClaren, Rodgers, Pardew - you would half expect it. But last season, our greatest ever manager and special one suddenly looked clueless. That's why, as much as the players have to take their share of the blame, the buck HAS to stop with the manager.

Today's Mail has a picture of him prowling the streets of London, with his legal notes for the Caneiro tribunal clearly on display. Comments such as 'I have never heard this Allegation' and 'It's fantasy' and 'not true' can be seen.

He is obviously going to defend himself rigorously against this, I wonder if the club should pay her up for constructive dismissal, its quite a weird situation to be in, and a bit messy for us and Mourinho.

To be honest Bobby, i don't actually hate Mourinho. I think what he did for this club was amazing first time, he was exactly what we needed back then and I can't thank him enough for those years. I know it wasn't his fault but we should never have taken him back second time around. He would guarantee short term success, but we needed someone who could last a decade. Mourinho wasn't that guy. We saw towards the end of the title winning season and all last season just exactly why he never lasts more than 3 years.

Ferguson won the title with the same squad he left so don't talk mince.

Funny how you don't seem to let people have a different opinion to you, very strange. Fergie won that last league title on his own managerial expertise but look at the squad he left whoever took over. Phil Jones and several bang average players in that line up. That job required years of rebuilding.

Has she got a new position at another club yet?
