How is chelsea pursuing it now? They can only take action if United create some memorabilia with Jose's name on it.

United probably WANT to create that sort of thing or market the club using his name. With Inter and Real we probably just let it slip by.

It would be nice to screw a few million quid out of United, even though we don't need the money. For years we have been paying 'Chelsea prices' to all and sundry.

 

A bit of payback would be nice especially after all the palaver over Jon Obi Mikel.

Red Cafe are a fickle bunch aren't they. All through the end of 14/15 they were going on about how average Jose was, how Pep was so much better and I used to argue against, and how our 04/05 team was great fun to watch.  Most of them weren't having any of it.

 

Now suddenly hes going to join them and his parking the bus is overstated, and everything they used to say was just a myth.

Funny how all of a sudden we're getting an avalanche of puff pieces claiming Mourinho's goals record is better than he's been given credit for, the 'parking the bus' reputation is undeserved, and we shouldn't judge him too harshly for not bringing through youngsters. What I don't get is clearly Inter and Real did not give a sh*t about his image rights..... and Real for one, a bigger club than Man Utd and also exploited his name  all over the world .... does it just relate to the UK ?

True, Chelsea faced a similar situation when Mourinho joined Inter Milan and Real Madrid, but allowed those clubs to use his name under licence. We are taking a different approach on this occasion, not least because United want to own the trademark outright.

Knew it was coming, but still a little choked up by the official announcement.

Really wish it had worked out here, it's going to be a tough few months here. Hopefully we hit the ground running next season.

This really hasn't had an affect (effect?) on me at all, I've never liked him. Can't deny he's one of the best around and who's success here will probably never be rivaled but I'm all about my club and us going forward.

Chelaea will win it all, Inter will win it all, Madrid will win it all and finally we'll win it all again they said. How did that work out? He won a lot but this notion that Man Utd will win the titles for years and years is absurd, they're no loyal to their managers than the next club, if they're at the wrong end of the table then he'll be gone.

I've never believed in this 'one of us' tripe but im not sure how fans who previously believed that are now angry at him, we fired him, TWICE! We can't expect him to turn down a great job and if you seriously did because of him being 'one of us' then you're deluded, in my opinion.

Remember when Jose said "if I don't promote these 5 kids (referring to RLC etc), I will have failed". Well Jose, you did fail. So much talk about youth and he didn't do it. Just alienated them further.

I'm Jose will be on his best behaviour for a while until the pressure starts.

I seriously cant bring myself to wish him luck in his new job...dont know why but i feel a bit nausiated about him going there makes me feel kind of betrayed if u know what i mean...

Don't really give a sh*t to be honest. He's not Chelsea any more, he can do what he wants. He'll get a round of applause the first time we play them, but other than that, he's the opposition manager now, so shouldn't get any special treatment, he certainly won't be giving us any

This would have really hurt had this been him succeeding Ferguson.

It really ran its course though with us the second time round and I am not convinced he is guaranteed to succeed there.

He is a Chelsea legend, always will be, but I hope he falls flat on his face in Manchester.

I actually feel more perturbed that I would have thought. I've seen him referred to as The Red Devil and have noted those welcoming him up north.

I wonder what reception he'll get when he comes back to Stamford Bridge with them. The Stamford Bridge crowds have generally been very gracious toward former club members.
