Also I said it before but Wenger stays because he makes the board and the owners money whilst spending little.

The fans seem also seem divided on Wenger as some treat him like he's some sort of God. He's won 3 league titles in 20yrs. It's hardly enough to be regarded as some sort of saint. Mourinho got that in a mere 5yrs and still got sacked.

When Sky was discussing the Wenger situation, I did enjoy hearing Carragher say there's things he likes about Arsenal and things he doesn't about Chelsea, then going on to compliment our ruthlessness at the club. I liked the line "we don't accept second best". It made me see sackings from a different perspective. People don't like it when we hire and fire the way we do, especially the likes of Ancelotti, Mourinho, Di Matteo. Many of our fans hate it too...but we can't deny our club's mentality and ideologies are more successful and, therefore for me, better than the likes of Arsenal's. We will never get love from these sorts of pundits and media personalities, Carragher included...but it's damn nice to see a bit of respect.

Scolari, AVB and second season of Carlo is a insight of what it's like being an Arsenal fan for the last 12 years. Naive tactics, complacency and pants pulled down in big games. Im not surprised Claude looks on the cusp on a breakdown, i was struggling with 9 months of those situations.

I'm actually a big advocate of the sacking culture, and if anything, managers get of lightly in general and get more time then they deserve. This obsession with you can only have long term stability with a manager is hilarious.

Although I agree I can see why keeping Wenger around makes sense to the board who are running a business.

I think that's what Arsenal have become, a business, it's no longer a football club, it's just a business, so long as Wenger secures a top four place, that's all that matters. I feel a bit sorry for the Arsenal fans who have had enough, I usually agree with Gary Neville, but his attack on that fan was wrong, I can completely understand any Arsenal fan being frustrated and wanting to move on. Wenger is still moaning about Alonso's goal, all he ever does is moan, he used to have physical players who would have done exactly what Alonso did, but is now stuck in this time warp of fancy football.

Now he's criticised his own fans and praised Tottenham fans for being with their team, it's pure delusion. Of coarse Tottenham fans are with their team, they are a team on the up and now have a better squad than Arsenal, Wenger has made Arsenal the third best team in London. The media can sing his praises all they want, he's the most overrated manager in the history of English football.

Twice.

Can't help but think with a billionaire owner who would give wenger a 200 million kitty, arsenal could be a force again. Their reluctance to give him the money to spend is what holds them back. Oh, and a new medical team

Stuck on a £5 accumulator. Just need... Arsenal, man Utd, Everton, Spurs, Chelsea, Man City, Stoke, West Ham, Leicester and a draw between Southampton and Sunderland and I'll be rolling in it.

I think wenger has been at the helm so long he has lost sight. Does any body else think that if he had started with giroud and wellbeck they might of given us heaps more trouble?

Watching that Arsenal fan tv which is so funny most of them on there agreed Wellbeck should of started or at least come on at halftime. That's the great thing about Wenger, I honestly don't think his tactically brilliant. He has a squad of players and a way of playing and that's where it stops.

Someone like Conte can coach players into new positions, make them play defensively brillant and coach a team for specific games. Also he has got a plan b. He would have Arsenal top depending on who's managing Chelsea.

Like said before Arenal is a business and as long as they get 4th that's all the board want.

Wenger is 67yrs old. He's done as a top flight manager and will never ever win the league again. Managers just like players also have a shelf life and Wenger's has come. In fact I'd say he was done as a top class manager 5yrs ago.

I am still not a fan of it. The only reason we are able o get away with it is because the managers we hire get us the trophy so the move seems justified. Take Ancellotti for example as that was the one firing that a lot of us felt was not justified. He went to Real and got them the much coveted LaDecima. I am not saying that had he stayed here he would have gotten us also another champions League trophy, but he would have surely won us another league title.

The second spell of Mourinho was a special case in itself and he should have been fired immediately after the Carnerio incident. Scolari and AVB are justified as they lost the dressing room.

Manchester United announces record quarterly revenues

Manchester United says it remains on track for record revenues for the current financial year, after making record quarterly revenues.

The Premier League's new TV deal meant broadcast revenues were up 40.8% in the last three months of 2016, while match day income rose 27%.

Total revenues were £157.9m, up 18% from £133.8m a year ago. The club now expects revenues of £540m this year.

"The robustness of our business model continues to be reflected in our strong quarterly financial results and we remain on track to deliver record revenues for the year," said Ed Woodward, executive vice chairman.

While broadcast and match day revenues were strongly ahead, commercial revenue was largely unchanged at £66.8m. They had enjoyed a strong boost this time last year with the commencement of the Adidas kit deal.

The club also said that in the quarter three major sponsorship deals were signed, new partnerships with Deezer and Mlily, and the renewal of one with Concha Y Toro.

Operating profit for Q2 was up 15% at £37.6m, and net operating profit was up 23% at £69m.

Commercially they are the biggest club in the world, the revenue they generate blows us all out the water CL or no CL.

it's got to the level where it'll take a miracle for them ever truely decline, they can just simply spend and spend and spend their way back to the top no matter what happens.

Yes but most of the profits go in one families pockets.

I prefer our set up with the owner putting in his own money to try and build a bigger club just for the love of it.

He may not have money to burn any more, but we have a prime position in the capital, a new 60k stadium on order (thanks again RA), and we have been the dominant club in the country for the last decade. I expect our fan base and profits to rise steadily over the next decade.

f**k manyoo.

Arsenal sells ticket at record price , the owners get their money back , Wenger isn't spending, they are still floating around the 4th spot, what else do Arsenal fans want? At the end the day, it's how the owners want to run the club, the only chance it will change is they sell the club to someone more ambitious rather than money hungry. Wenger will stay, he's only like 18 years into his 20 years project. He will sign some French kid and remind everyone there's the Henry coming up in 2-3 years time.

I'm not exactly a financial genius, but why don't they mention ManU's debt, which keeps getting bigger?

Most indebted club in Europe - probably the world - to the current tune of more than 400 million pounds of which Utd claim that 88 million pounds has been caused by the drop in sterling post the Brexit vote/debacle. Easily manageable debt given its revenues but the depressed pound is significant now in a wider sense & for all british clubs over the longer term. And let's face it - the top clubs can only sell a handful of first tier aging players for ludicrous sums to the chinese clubs & less so now because the chinese league has just reduced allowable imports from four to three per club.

Out of these fixtures - what would you choose as a cert for a winner?

Arsenal V Hull
Bournemouth V Man City
Burnley V Chelsea
Liverpool V Tottenham
Man Utd V Watford
Middlesbrough V Everton
Stoke V Crystal Palace
Sunderland V Southampton
Swansea V Leicester
West Ham V West Brom

They all look a little dodgy for me.. I am in a soccer buster at work.

Leaning on Arsenal at the moment.
