What is very noticeable about English sides in Europe is how they lack intensity. You never see those kind of performances in the Premier League so why play that way in Europe ?

Also, Tottenham's record in this competition is laughable. They have been in it nearly every season for the last 10 years and they never look like winning it. They should be embarrassed by the amount of times they struggle against these mediocre European teams. If they can't beat teams like this, then they may as well not bother with the Champions League, the level of quality is a lot higher.

Unfortunately, United will piss this tournament, thus joining us in the only English teams to win all European Trophies.

Liverpool did get to the Cup Winners Cup final once, but they lost.

United are not having an easy match tonight, they were lucky twice in their goal (it wasn't a foul on Ibrahimovic and it was a laughable deflection) and lucky again the referee didn't give St Etienne a blatant penalty by Blind. The ref so far gloriously favouring Maure, and then Mourinho will complain.

Chelsea  will still be the first can't take that away from us

I am gutted that we will never see Mark Clattenberg take charge of a Chelsea fixture again.

No more condescending reactions to our players.

No more curt dismissal of our cries for fair treatment

No more waving away stonewall penalties in our favour

Surely many of you will join me in wishing Mark well in the desert.

What is Fellani still doing at United? He's absolutely sh*te.

Mourinho needs someone to dedicate matches too.

you forgot sending off two chelsea players in the space of 5 minutes at home because we dared to come back from 0-2 down against united !!

The only time I have ever been told off by a steward is for loudly calling Clattenburg a 'haircut c**t'.

Yet somehow I will remember him fondly... best of luck to him.

Happy to see us win 3-0 despite doing a "meehhh" game at best. St.Etienne did a quite ok game bar their right side who was sent to the stands time and time again by Martial and Rashford.

The team that scares me the most is Roma. Seems like they're in the best form for many years. Dzeko seems rejuvenated by the Italian air

Indeed. We were privileged to witness his refereeing. He will be irreplaceable.

Long way to go for them to win this trophy, particularly as their team is nowhere near as good as the one we won it with and we didn't find it that easy

They are by far better than our 12/13 team and have a lot more depth to cope. They can bring in the likes of Martial, Rashford, Schweingteiger, Jones and Romero. If we dug deep  that season we had Turnbull, Marin, and Moses (who is sh*t on the wing) getting games. Not to mention Zlatan leads there line with Rooney, Rashford and Martial also capable, we by comparison had Ba who was a decent scorer but not Chelsea level and Torres who was a fundementaly rubbish footballer in every sense.

More i look at that squad the more i think Rafa worked a minor miracle getting 3rd and a trophy.

You're having a laugh...you pick out some of the weakest squad players and conveniently forget that many of the players who won the Europa league had won the champions league and fa cup the year before. FSW took over when we were in second and nearly made a right hash of getting. Atop four place, also lost league cup semi to Swansea, world club cup to Corinthians and fa cup to Man City...and tried to bomb out JT when he was still in his prime...

As for Utd, they've been sixth all season..hardly beaten anyone of note, drawn a lot of games in this hyped 'unbeaten run' made hard work of beating an average French team tonight

And did he?

I am surprised people think that our 12/13 squad was better than united's current squad.

I mean look at the quality they have. Zlatan, Rooney, Martial, Mata, Carrick, Pogba.

We had the likes of Hazard, oscar but they were 20/21 with no PL experience and no european experience. Lets not even talk about the bench: moses, yossi, marin the german messi. Our most prominent midfielder was who? 34 year old SFL? Rambo? Mikel? Ake?

Our first 11 was

Cech

Iva GC JT Cole

SFL DL

OScar Mata Hazard

Torres

Compare that to united's first 11 currently

DDG

Valencia Rojo bailly shaw

Pogba Carrick Herrera

Martial Zlatan Mata

sorry but in a 1v1, the only Chelsea players that would make it are GC, JT Cole and Hazard. No one else. And this is the first team. Dont even get me started on the bench.

No, they won and the referee helped them in the first half, but he didn't comment the errors in his favour either. That's how he is. Any problem with me mentioning it? And this is all I am going to talk about it because this is not the right place to "start yet another discussion about Mourinho yes v Mourinho no".

It's debatable which players are the best, but its not about comparing individual players, its a team sport, you have to stand back and look at the bigger picture, how do the players fit in together. It's not a game of Top Trump cards.

That Chelsea 11 won far more than that Man U team has at the moment.  Great names on paper.  No names on silverware.

Edit:  I'm aware Carrick won the CL.  I'm referring to the team.

Its not just about trump cards or big names. Its also about the team. 2012/13 chelsea was a team in definite transition. Our 3 AMs were Hazard, Mata, Oscar, the oldest was Mata with 1 year at chelsea. Similarly the bench of Yossi, Marin, Moses, Ba.

Cant find a single way where i can actually say that the 12/13 chelsea was better than the current united squad.
