March 18, 20188 yr Does anyone watch Dortmund more often and have some info on Dahoud? I've seen him play a handful of times now and he looks very impressive to me.
March 18, 20188 yr That was some goal. He is the purest goal scorer we have at the moment. It is a pity that we could not get a formation that plays to his strengths in our squad.
March 18, 20188 yr I thought the loan move was the right decision and it’s certainly been a good move for Michy. Playing consistently, scoring goals and full of confidence, at least he’s given Conte or the next manager a headache for next season.
March 19, 20188 yr IMHO there isn't enough props for Bats Zola like goal, so I will start with this *.gif
March 23, 20188 yr Eight goals in 11 starts in 3 months, had 4 starts for us in 18 months. Quote What happens next is uncertain. Batshuayi fits perfectly at Dortmund but they know the finances involved with signing him permanently are likely to be beyond them. "The situation hasn't changed since his signing, and certainly not to our advantage," sporting director Michael Zorc said last month. "He has become even more interesting to others." He might have become more interesting to Chelsea too. Could Batshuayi climb above Morata and Giroud to assume a more prominent role next season? Could a new manager give him the opportunities Conte did not? After an explosive start to life in Germany, it is no longer as improbable as it previously seemed. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11881/11300258/michy-batshuayi-chelsea-striker-taking-his-chance-on-loan-at-borussia-dortmund
March 23, 20188 yr He clearly isn't good enough because he didn't score a hat trick that one time he was given a start after not playing a match for 8 months though.

March 23, 20188 yr What impresses me when watching him at dortmund is he is always in the right place to score. Many of his goals for dortmund have been because he's in the right position. That backheel goal came after he tried a similar backheel from a corner and missed. He scored on second try ha. He is very clinical with his few chances too, which is rare in strikers. Very underrated striker. Edited March 23, 20188 yr by enigma

If you look like a conference footballer when you do get the chance then you don't deserve "fair opportunities". He got the whole of pre season plus he would have had the first month at least while Morata got up to speed, but he was so so tragically bad that we had to fasttrack Morata for arguably the most hardest away game of the season. The contrast between the Norwich and Hull FA Cup games show exactly why Bats never got a run in this set up, against Norwich despite scoring Bats lack of movement and being unable to trap a bag of cement led to many attacks breaking down and us not being able to create fluid passing movements to trouble the Canaries. Compare that to Giroud up top against Hull, he was moving cleverley, passing well, bringing others into play and as a consequence we absolutely ripped Hull to pieces and were unlucky to only win by four. Contrast the two Palace games as well, one with Giroud up top, the other with Bats and the difference is astronomical. Edited March 23, 20188 yr by Argo
March 23, 20188 yr That "conference footballer" scored twice in his last start for us before being shunted off on loan. His goals/starts record was always good for us. Always. He played better for us than every single one of the guys people moan were shunted out the door too soon and not given a fair chance. Every single one. http://www.espnfc.com/player/156479/michy-batshuayi?season=2017

Stick him 1 on 1 with the keeper he'll tuck it away ill give him that, but beyond that we are down to ten, look at who scored assessment of him, sums him up in a nutshell. Look like a Sunday league player if your lucky but I know what, I'll keep playing you.

His been given a massive confidence boost by the manager, 20 seconds at the end of the match would smash your confidence.

Come on now, he must be feeling on the top of the world playing 20 seconds, 2, 5 or 10mins at the end of football managers because your be very lucky to see a change before the 80th min. At least he should be scoring a hattrick

How do Morata's Characteristics look in comparison? I seriously doubt Morata contributes more defensively than Michy. Also, Morata falls to the ground at the slightest touch, so his "aerial duels" stats shouldn't be much better than Michy's. He scores headers when unchallenged, but so does Michy. So on the same parameters, Morata is clearly superior only in the "Holding onto the ball" category.

My point was that some of Bats' weaknesses also apply to Morata. If Conte stays, we will sell him and he will go on to be a smashing success somewhere else.

He's missed most of his 1v1's this season so i don't see how 'finishing' should be in there. Shows how daft half these websites are. Madrid fans always said he needed several chances to score when he was there. Contrast the two Palace games as well, one with Giroud up top, the other with Bats and the difference is astronomical. If i remember correctly he did well in pre-season and smashed a few past Arsenal. He started against Burnley but Cahill ruined that game from the get go with his absolute head loss. After that he didn't start another game until Qarabag? and Forest, where he scored a goal and a hat trick. Then pretty much just got cameos until he was shipped out. Everyone knows how much confidence affects a player and only being allowed to start 4 games a year is obviously going to hammer his. If Batshuayi had been given multiple extended runs in the team (like Baka) i could understand people writing him off but he hasn't. The anomaly in his career is Chelsea, he scores bags of goals everywhere he goes. Hopefully our manager next season will give him a fair chance and we won't be stuck watching Morata slice a simple 1v1 wide and have a proper finisher on the pitch.
