Rapid Vienna VS Chelsea (Pre-Season) 16/07/2016 KO 17:00 BST

Moses only player that stood out positively... Djilobodji didn't hurt his Chelsea chances either

Willian has been good. Of the subs I think Ola Aina did ok out of position and  also Chalobah in midfield.

Is signing a full back a bigger priority than signing a centre back?

Yes, Ivan can't play RB anymore and Baba is not good enough, so we basically only have one trusted full back.

Also Kenedy is not a fullback....

I think it is. We only have 3 that have a realistic chance of playing. We have Ivanovic who has been terrible at RB for a year now, Baba Rahman at LB who has been very unconvincing since he arrived and Azpilicueta who is playing LB instead of RB because we haven't been able to find another LB who is anywhere near as consistent.

At least with CB's we have more choices. Terry, Cahill, Zouma, Ivanovic, Djilibodji ( i doubt he will be here much longer though )

Pre season or not we are Chelsea and we should not lose to a team from Austria. I thought players would want to impress Conte. looking at the positives, Ivanovic might have just secured his place on the bench next season. we need reinforcements at the back ( if it wasn't so clear even befkre this game ).

Not great, but far from our first team, lots of players tested, we need to sort out the defence, if we're not going in for a full back, then we're stupid. Kante still yet to come in, can only get better...hopefully, no need to panic though.

you guys really need to calm down its the first match of pre season of which Conte had what a couple days with the team it's all about getting match fit and clearly no one in the team is

You can make excuses for some players, some been away to international tournaments, Costa came back form injury, some are inexperienced youths.

But I fully expected Matic to be killing it after having all this time to rest and train, now Kante has come to light a fire under his arse, if he still can't get out of this state then his future is looking grim.

Can't read too much into that half the team were missing and obviously only been in training for 3 days which clearly showed.

We will improve that's a given the fitness levels will improve only then will Conte be able to implement the playing style he is looking for, that being said Djoboljoi looks awful definitely not Chelsea standard.

That was enjoyable enough, it was good to see Chelsea back in action after an entire week without football.

Obviously it's far too early to draw any sort of conclusions but I have a few jumbled thoughts:

- It was interesting to finally see Djilobodji in the flesh (so to speak), he seems to have a bit of the David Luiz about him (both good and bad aspects); a very aggressive centre back both in terms of attempting to win the ball and what he does with it, and also in terms of his physicality. I do wonder how he would fare in a three-man defence.

- Chalobah looked very comfortable in midfield. Aina looked decent too.

- Moses put in a decent performance; this preparation should serve him very well for his inevitable loan to... West Brom maybe?

- The difference between our first half and second half setups should be a good indication of how flexible a coach Conte is.

i'm still calm, but tbh a little concerned. that's exactly what everyone was saying last pre season, "it's only pre season" "it's about getting match fit", yet we know how that turns out

Not fussed about the result but Begovic palming the ball into 'danger areas' twice, Loftus-Cheek's inability to influence the game in the first half and yet another mistake from Ivanovic sticks out for me. That and perhaps the lack of controlled possession in midfield. Onwards and upwards.

Not worried about the result as it was a team of a majority of players that will be heading out on loan or placed on the transfer list.  Will wait to see how good or bad were are when the entire squad returns.

everyone just need to relax just glad to see the boys back... i rather we lost this so we stay focus than batter them and get over cocky they are way fitter than us sharper
