I can go find stats that show Townsend had a better season than Ronaldo in 2013/14 but we all know the bigger picture that it just isn't accurate.

I can understand what people see in Willian, but for me, he doesn't do enough going forward for the top level.

Yes his free kicks were great at the start of last season, second half they were crap.

I think Mahrez would be an upgrade on him (if he replicates last seasons form) no guarantees of course so I'd be cautious of shelling out £60m!

I'd still take Willian over Oscar though, unbelievable how inconsistent he is, which is a shame because on his day, he is world class IMO. It's just a shame his day is about twice a season.

Ranieri has said he has spoken to Mahrez and he has decided to stay at Leicester.

It would have been a nice signing if we got him but we have more pressing needs still.

Willian winning the player of the season is more of a reflection of how bad our team was than how good he was. He was superb at the start but turned to sh*t in the second half of the season. Overall he was good, but not great.

It's a shame that Mahrez wants to stay at Leicester because he is a brilliant player and would be a huge upgrade on Willian. We should use the Morata funds and dangle it in front of Mahrez/Leicester to see if we can tempt him into a move.

I think it is good he is staying tbh. I like to think Leicester had a good thing and some of it stays unchanged.

I don't think an attacking midfielder is really an area we need to focus on.  I think the main area will be CB.  Terry playing less, and Miazga having to prove himself more, added that Zouma is coming back from injury.  I think we will see us go CB before anything else..

I don't think Ranieri would ever forgive us if we got both Kante and Mahrez.

Nice to hear that he's staying. A few weeks ago when it was first reported tc at he wanted to leave, I mentioned that he might be saying it to get his salary bumped to match Vardy.

They offered him a pay increase, but it was to 80k a week while they offered Vardy 100k a week. Mahrez in my opinion is the more important player, so I can understand if he felt like that was unfair and that the only way to change it was to threaten to leave like Vardy did.

Have to agree, I think we have more pressing concerns in defence to be worried about.

He'll be leaving leicester no doubt at some point but I presonally feel he should at least take part in leicester maiden CL adventure... However, if leicester doesn't know how to admire him then maybe he has a case to leave.. The report about him being offered 80k a week which is lesser than vardy & kante despite he's the one who got the POTY award is a smack to his worth and logic..
