Marcos Alonso

Featured Replies

He was superb today, I think what I like most about Alonso is how hard he works, he just doesn't stop. Think he's an underrated player by so many on here, bit funny how none of them are here praising him now. You can get the second he makes an error in a game they will be.

I've questioned his finishing in the past, but his first goal was taken nicely. Second was lucky...but the volley that nearly netted him his hat-trick was struck beautifully. Great game.

The finish for the 2nd was lucky but his first touch was superb, made the goal.

I can see why he gets stick on here. He is a gangly, sometimes clumsy-looking footballer but in actual fact he's a work-horse.

If that volley had gone in for his hat trick this place would have exploded. He's a very likeable player, clearly doesn't know how to celebrate a goal and has a look of childish disbelief on his face when he does.

If we go all the way to the title this season (we will), most of the plaudits must go to him.

And I maintain you can't win titles without work horses in the team

Am a big fan of him especially because he is a former Bolton player. He had a wonderful game yesterday, I never expect that performance from him. Yet I hope we get an upgrade on him at the end of the season because whenever we are playing a top team, they prefer attacking us from his position rather than the other side and he often struggle under much pressure.

Former Bolton players have a habit of doing quite well for us #cahillcaptainelect #haswoneverything

MOTM display and so so close to a hattrick. Only our 3rd defender to score a brace in a game after Terry and Ivan.

He's not Chelsea quality though right?

Outstanding today, really lifted. I wonder if we'll see all those who constantly denigrate him in this thread praising him today..... Probably not.

He had a very good game but these type of posts are like the AKBs at Arsenal every time they win.

And yet we were right, go figure....

Bore off pal.

He was superb , deal with it

Hello Ty.

I said he was, doesn't mean the critique of him in other games wasn't valid, let me guess you were one of the people that proclaimed Torres as back to his best every time he scored.

Typical response.

Alonso is a very good member of the squad, but i have to laugh every time a player does a decent job they should be permanent starter for eternity. Begovic, Remy, Scjurrle now Alonso.

Who has said he should be a permanent starter for eternity, youre just making things up to stop yourself looking like a complete arse. Which isnt working.

I never said he didn't play well, i just don't like all these posts off "were are the critics now, we were right" based on one great game, Arsenal fans are mocked for that type of fickle nature.

I have never actually been one of Alonsos critics and actually defended him a while back when someone (probably one of the people shouting the "haters" down now) said he was worse than Baba, i just find the reactiveness based on the last result hilarious, at WHL even Conte was getting both barrels.

LOL.

How about your reactiveness in making sh*t up? Is that equally as hilarious?

I think Alonso can serve us well as a very decent squad/rotation option for a good few years, a bit similar to Park at United (im talking in the way they offer quality depth not play style before you or anyone else twist my words).

It's an opinion I will still hold regardless of how he plays against Hull next week, and if he has a shocker I'll probably be defending him against the abuse he is getting, and probably get similar personal insults to what you have just thrown at me.
