Chelsea's title credentials

Featured Replies

Big two games are up next. Huge games.

Two away for us, two at home for Spurs. For this reason I look at it that we have basically a 1 point lead over Spurs, with 2 games in hand. Whatever we can get at Bournemouth and United adds to that point.

Negotiate these games and restore a 7 point lead or close to it and in our last 6 games we have 4 at home while Spurs have 4 away. Neither Bournemouth nor United will make it easy but these games are really key imo.

Huge game against Bournemouth, they are already out of the relegation battle, which is good for us. Those teams battling to save their bacons usually come up with a big performance towards the end of the season, e.g. Palace. United can't win a game at home, and they got Thursday night football, I don't think that visit to OT is that daunting . Win the next 2 games we are just about sealed the title, 4 points are acceptable, but must win 1 of them.

18 points is the number to reach in the remaining games. That's if Spurs are perfect in all games.

I'm still cautious to be honest.

one game at a time.

no easy game as we found out against palace at home.

On their best run of games, shame for them the horse had already bolted.

5 wins on the bounce for Spurs... But as the old saying goes all good things come to an end.

I can't see them having a clean sweep of victories from now until the end of the season but it's just as much a case of us continuing to grind out good results.

Win at home against Southampton, Watford, Sunderland and Middlesborough.
Win one of the away games against United, Everton or West Bromwich.

Nice path to the title and this is only needed if Spurs have a perfect run-in.

Can see us losing at Old Trafford so it's still going to be incredibly tense but we are in a wonderful position.

Just hope someone can take points of Spurs soon.

'Arry reckons Spurs would be top of the league if they hadn't had the injuries this year. Mans a f**king idiot honestly, all teams suffer injuries and as if they'd be able to keep it up every game. Honestly the delusion is pathetic.

this is literally all tottenham fans excuse now, "chelsea are top of the league because they don't have injuries like us"

so what our players should injure themselves and roman should sack all our medical team to make it fair? some brains on them honestly

One thick spurs fan i know said we wouldn't be too if we hadn't had that winning streak.....No sh*t you dozy w**ker :laugh2:

Could happen but Man U have looked toothless lately. They hardly look capable of scoring more than one goal ATM. A draw is more likely; a win would be great.

As for us, one game less for Tottenham to catch up. Their window is closing...

Posted this in another thread but thought it worth adding to this too:

If you compare our remaining fixtures to Tottenham, we clearly have a tougher April whereas they have a tougher May. In fact I would say that our next three games - United (a), Southampton, Everton (a) - are the hardest of the 7 we have left. Therefore the key for us is to get to May with a lead, ideally 5 points or more. If we can do that then we'll be very close indeed.

Whilst Tottenham are sadly on a roll at the moment I find it very hard to think that they will win all of their games from here on. To do that would mean equalling our run of 13 consecutive wins. They've found it much tougher away from home and all of their away games look tricky for various reasons (Leicester, Palace, West Ham, Hull). On top of that they have United and Arsenal still at home.

When you add all of that together then it's no wonder most bookies give us roughly a 90% chance of winning the title at this point. That said it's still going to be very nervy, we still need to pick up a considerable chunk of points. One game at a time!
