Chelsea's title credentials

I don't understand why people still think that teams like Stoke who are in mid table with nothing much to fight for, believe that they will just roll over or not turn up. Most of the players in these teams are fighting for their careers and massive amounts of money compared to us in the real World, they may be after a transfer and need to really turn it on, they become more dangerous in some cases. The last few years we have seen some really surprising results towards the end of the season.

It's not over until it's mathematically over in my mind! I always get nervous when some people think we're already title winners.

We're in the best position possible, but there's still a lot of work to be done as Conte has rightfully pointed out recently.

This. Sooooooo this :greysweat:

Chatting to a friend who supports another team.  He couldn't understand why I we didn't think it was all over.  I told him that if Citeh (for example) were 10 points clear then I would think is was all over, but when it's your team you NEED it to be mathematically confirmed, trophy in hand that sort of thing, before you celebrate.

Lets ask the question if another team were 10 points clear with 11 games to go, in great form, no injuries, no European football,  what change do we think we would have of catching them?

Conte as manager to.

Tbh i can understand caution but i can not in a million years understand the mindset of post's that are expecting us to get caught, someone even going as far as saying City are favs :laugh2:

City missed there chance midweek. Beat Stoke and Chelsea then you have a chance. There run in was tough though. The only slight worry is Spurs with no european football and i think I heard they had some easier games coming up.

lose two on the trot and its pretty much wide open again, simple as that

What are the odds of that? I mean really the odds?

With 33 points left, it would be quite a change of form for 10 to be dropped.....but certainly not impossible.  What is even more highly unlikely is us dropping 10 and MCFC/Spuds not dropping any themselves.

Never over until the table says so and certainly not taking it as a given, but it's hard to not feel confident of adding another BPL title this season.

Ditto, its people saying we should rotate the team tonight so our players are fresh for the league that I cant fathom.

Just bring up Liverpool 2014

In that case I  am expecting a historical collapse, anything else is a bonus...... Just the way I deal with it.

Andy I immediately thought of you when I read this article - Everyone on CFC won't take losing the Title as well as you ;) - true I didn't think CFC were capable of winning the Title at the beginning of the season, because I thought Don Antonio would need some time to get acclimated to the way the games are played in England - however Don Antonio not only adjusted quickly, but seems to have mastered the art of the Game in England + plus he has the team geared up for the fight - just read Eden's quotes

"If we don't win the title this season it will be something of the same feeling because we have the opportunity to win so we have to. But don't think too early about the title, think game after game."

Speaking of premature...

If (Huge emphasis on the IF) we went on to win the league title. Who do you think will lift it?

Terry, the man who may not play for us next season. A great oppurtunity for our greatest leader to lift the club's (and his) 5th PL trophy?

Or Cahill, the man who ultimately captained us to that trophy?

Or both?

JT seems like the sort of guy who would insist that Cahill lifted the trophy first. Remember that interview with Gallas in which he said that he was more than happy to be left out of the side because it meant that we were winning?
