Chelsea Vs WBA (PL) SUN 11/12 2016 KO 12:00 GMT

Featured Replies

Just back from a good day out at the Bridge with the grandson.Diego finish was superb.Few beers in the Lili after watching Spuds get best lol.Back home for  Sunday roast,perfect.....UP THE CHELS !

With all the "Pep this, Jose that, Klopp the other" going on last summer, what odds would you have got that after 15 PL games played we would be 6 points clear of Liverpool, 7 clear of City and THIRTEEN clear of Jose United ...

Someone pinch me ... :)

Poor game, WBA came for a point, no problem with their tactics for me it's our job to break them down. We are not going to smash teams every week. Good goal by Diego job done a victory of Champions to be. All in all another good weekend Spuds& sh*tty Lose,Dippers drop two points we now need for the Gooners to drop points, Sunderland & Palace are winnable for us can see Gooners dropping points at Everton or sh*tty so we could/ should be 6/7 points clear at Christmas..luvly jubbly:biggrin:

Tough tough game today and not the most entertaining. WBA came with a task of getting a point and almost pulled it of. Don't blame them for that, good tactics in my opinion, no use them playing open football and getting tanked.

one slight mistake by McCauley and great determination and skill by our CF give us the three points. Don't want to get ahead of myself and talk about winning championships yet as I think we are a bit light on squad depth but it's results like this that gives us a fighting chance come May.

As I expected, tough day at the office, but so glad we got the 3 points. This type of win is much more satisfying than beating up Everton 5 nil. We weren't very good, but it's probably more to do with WBA's commitment and defensive shape. I think this game will take lots out of their tank. Costa had no right to score that goal, but the form he's in anything it's possible, from that angle on his left foot was just too good to be true. Defensively we coped pretty well, there's a reason we play 3 at the back, when Luiz lost Rondon, there was no way the other defender would cover with the standard back 4 formation. 9 on a trot, who would have imagined that after the Arsenal game?

Needed to either start with Cesc or sub on earlier. No point having Matic and Kante against a side that attacks so little. Still our side has impressed me, we've won in a variety of circumstances and ways against varied opponents on this run. People get too fixated on the 3-4-3, the side has confidence and composure even when things are going wrong.

What is good old uncle Ken up to these days?  Be nice for him to have some sort of role at the club again. He is a large part of why we are where we are now.

I'd rather watch a 5:0 win and WBA showed how hard it is to break down a packed defence.

We need matic and Kante to shoot better from outside. There were several opportunities for outside shooting and even going close would have pulled their defensive midfield further forward maybe giving another meter or two of space.

Luiz looked like he is was definitely struggling hope he gets better but could see him rested soon.

Costas running was a real joy in defence as well as attack. The best striker in the U.K. This season for the assists, the defence, the hold up play and of course the goals.

A little rotation could be good at this point. Pedro a bit off the pace in this game and Moses wasn't used as much as he might have been.

What a fantastic "battle" yesterday at Stamford Bridge. From the first minutes you could see it was going to be tough. WBA closed very well the spaces, did their tactical fouls to stop flow and what an amount of time wasted without a yellow card to Foster (he wasn't wasting time any more after Costa put the ball in the net). I thought that Fabregas should have come on sooner, it was clear that we needed his quality and pass vision to find the space and get the ball behind their tight defence. William needs to practice his shooting, again too wide and not on target! And I don't really understand Ivanovic's substitution. Bring on some other youngster, not Ivanovic, but I guess we are going to see this substitution more often than we would expect. Any way, a great victory against a tough side that came and park the bus. Our Chelsea is showing that is capable of winning different types of matches, and is showing a lot of character to suffer and fight for the 90 minutes. And all this is down to Conte, amazing!

Was never going to be easy. It was not easy, but we fought on, dug our heels and won it at the end. All credit to COSTA.

Luiz was poor. Did not seem fit and thats a massive worry since we are playing defoe in 3 days.

Top of the table with arsenal playing everton and city in their next 2 games. Time to really make ourselves comfortable at the top.

Unfortunately Luiz made three or four mistakes that could have cost us points if WBA had attempted to win the match rather than just take a 0-0 draw. But to be fair, he was playing with a bandage so he probably was not 100%.
