So what is that from Guardiola?

----------------------------------Caballero

---------------Stones---------Kompany----------Clichy

Navas------------Fernandinho-------------Delph-------------Sané

-------------------De Bruyne-------------------Silva

------------------------------------Aguero

Or:

---------------------------------Caballero

Navas-------------Kompany------------Stones--------------Clichy

--------------------Fernandinho----------Delph

------De Bruyne--------------Silva-----------------Sané

---------------------------------Aguero

Putting Navas up against Hazard as a straight full-back seems pretty suicidal. Of course it could be Delph sitting with Fernandinho and Silva slightly ahead in order to provide the full-backs with more cover.

Sanchez did next to nothing against Navas and he's a fantastic winger in his own right. I think Pep has drilled enough confidence to the player so much so that you'll rarely see any winger destroy a fullback when it comes to top teams (not to mention the players around him to help)

Me too. I think we are going to be slaughtered with the pressing game on a small back line. I really do think we might get hammered tonight, 0-3 or even 0-4 heaven forbid.

Nerves kicking in. Zouma will have to play a blinder as will Dave and Fabregas. We will concede I reckon so we need to open up their defense and score a few. Pooping it already.

I have a terrible feeling Zouma's going to concede a penalty or do something stupid.

Not feeling confident about this, reckon our back 3 may work against us tonight and can see City pinning us back. City 3-1, sorry! :hiding:

F*ck me we're pessimistic for this one.

That's my worry too! I hope not and he proves us all wrong. If we lose here and Spurs win, and Spurs then win on the early kick off on Saturday, then it'll be only 1 point between us, argh! From 10!

Zouma is solid , no worries

It's entirely possible, although I have to wonder to what extent that thought influenced Guardiola into starting Delph. Looking at the lineups again, I'd wager that Delph is actually on the right of that midfield pairing.

Navas, in theory, makes a back line far more comfortable playing 5-10 yards higher up the pitch when compared to Sagna and Zabaleta, and we've shown that we can struggle against sides which prevent us from playing out properly from the back. On the other hand, you would think that this advantage is offset by starting Kompany, who has played once since November. That said, it's hard to say anything without knowing exactly what condition Kompany is in.

One thing's for sure - this is going to be a fascinating match. I know Guardiola isn't the most popular guy on the forum, but one thing I love about him is his surely unparalleled ability to keep you guessing.

I predict a draw. or win for us.

That City trio of Kompany, Fernandinho (at right back) and Delph gives me hope.

I think Hazard, Pedro and Fabregas can easily come out on top against them we just need them all to be positive with their attacking play.

There's goals to be had against this City team.

COME ON CHELS!

I have ice cream, beer, wine, whisky, chocolate, a Thai lady friend and an avalanche of porn standing by in case we lose.

Dare I ask what happens if we win?!
