For a bit of fun, i thought i would create a thread where we pick our squad and formation for next season. Try and keep it at least semi-realistic.

Here's my two formations:

 

 

I didn't go full fantasy football and decided to go with players we have been linked with the most over the last few weeks and months. I picked Mendy over Sandro because i don't think we can get both of Juve's wing backs in one season and i don't think they would let both go. I have come around to the idea of bringing Alves in. It may be just for a season or two, but i think him and Moses sharing that position could work really well for us. I'd keep Batshuayi and have him share the position with Lukaku and hope he get's more game time than he did last season.

Matic and Costa are sold and Loftus-Cheek and Zouma are sent out on loan. I'm unsure on Aina because i'm still not convinced he is good enough but i would probably keep him around for backup.

Personally, i prefer the formation on the left, the formation on the right is too reliant on the wing backs for width and i think we have too many attacking midfielders to play behind the striker. One of Willian or Pedro would end up missing too many games to keep them both happy and i don't want us to sell either of them. I also prefer the formation on the left because it has Sanchez in it. I think that would really push us on to another level with him in the squad.

Its 2017-18 related thread. So dont know why you would include Oscar. 

It bothers me because it seems people go out of the way to include the Oscar's 60mil, just so as to make their unrealistic 200+mil splurges look real. 

But I know its your opinion, but just felt like pointing it out.

I'd want a decent 3-5-2 option as well as a 3-4-3. In games we played bad in last season, notably Tottenham, Man U and the FA cup final we did so by not controlling the middle of the pitch. So transfers i would like to see in along with Lukaku and any wing backs are players to give us solid options in midfield. My ideal squad would be.

Just adding this up. Hmmm even assuming Krul and Alves cost nothing it seems optimistic. Bonucci 50m, Sandro 40m, Lukaku 70m, Bakayoko 35m, James 60m. Is 255m unlikely?? If so could swap out Bonucci and just keep Ake instead.
